In what could be a first for a global fast food outlet, Burger King is making a bold proclamation in support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community with the launch of a specially packaged burger.
The "Be Your Way" project was created at a Burger King franchise in San Francisco, where a limited edition "Proud Whopper" sandwich was added to the menu to coincide with the city's annual pride festivities. According to press materials, guests who ordered the "Proud Whopper" found that the sandwich was the same as a classic Whooper, but came wrapped in a rainbow-colored wrapper with the inscription, "We are all the same inside."

The burger's release was documented in a short "Be Your Way" film, which was released on Burger King's YouTube page and can be viewed at top.
We are always looking to engage our guests on a local level and be part of regionally relevant events,” said Kelly Gomez, Director of West Coast Field Marketing, Burger King West Division, in an email statement. Given that a Burger King franchise was perfectly situated along the San Francisco Pride Parade route, she added, "It was a natural fit to be involved and celebrate by giving something back to the community.”

BK is a dying food chain, this will surely decrease sales. Not sure the homosexual crowd really spends the day shopping at JCP and lunch at BK.

I have gone to Burger King for the last time.
This is IDIOT marketing!!! Unless you are selling gay flags, you NEVER add social or political statements to your advertising. You instantly alienate a portion of your marketing base. Shut up and make burgers!!! (Another one I liked scratched iff my list!)

The last burger I had from Burger King was a tasteless flat mess as it fell apart in my hand with its limp lettuce and awful sauce. That was years back and never went again. This just re-affirms that I will never eat their crap again even if they have improved their burgers.
I guess no more Burger King products for me.

I’m really blown away by people and corporations stomping all over each other to be the first to loudly proclaim, “yeah, me too!” just so they won’t get in the Gay Mafia cross hairs.
Well at least they will save on ad writers if they just rehash the old ‘Put a smile on your face’ commercials.
That whole mouth full mouth/big eye’d look will have a whole other context though.
I haven’t eaten at Burger King in years. It’s like having a salt burger that someone sat on first.
Burger King is going to find out with their pocketbook how many Gay customers and same sex marriage supporters eat out. Its like opening a “Soul Food” restaurant and finding out that real “Soul Food” doesn’t sell in the restaurant business.

I had total of three with the rainbow, all relatives. Two were already blocked because they're idiots. The third is now with them.
