It's become almost clich in American politics to call a politician Nixonian or "like Nixon" -- and it's rarely a positive to compare an officeholder or candidate to the only U.S. president to resign from office.
Yet to Evan Thomas, the author of a new Nixon biography who also covered the Clinton White House, comparing Hillary Clinton to Nixon works -- to an extent.

Comparing Clinton to Nixon is laughable.
Nixon wouldn’t reach Clinton’s shoe-tops in relation to overall crimes and treason committed by the two.

Like I said on another thread, she’s probably a lot more like Nixon than Nixon ever was himself, lol.

EXACTLY exactly exactly what I was going to say. This is like comparing a guy getting a parking ticket to John Gotti, absolutely and utterly ludicrous. If Nixon did even 1/100th of the amount of stuff the Clinton grifters did, he would have been impeached, tried for treason and executed. Like I tell liberals, just name a crime and the Clintons have done it or have suspicious involvment. Murder? Yes. Rape? Yes, Assault? Yes. Theft? Yes. Fraud? Yes. Money laundering? Yes. Treason? Absolutely. On and on and on and on ...Probably the only crime they haven't done..yet... is sexually molesting kids but then again we don't know Bills full history when he was growing up in Arkansas. Without question, absolutely no argument, the Clintons are THE most corrupt politicians in this nations history. No one even comes 20 million light years CLOSE. And incredibly they are still doing it today and they are quite blatant about it!

Indeed she has quite a few Nixonian attributes. Unfortunately, she lacks his competence in foreign affairs.
She also lacks the decency of Nixon to resign from public life when confronted with scandal after scandal.
And several of her scandals have been far, far worse than Watergate.

"She also lacks the decency of Nixon to resign from public life when confronted with scandal after scandal.Which brings up the question of a candidates integrity is proven to be non-extant time and time again......then WHY is Hillary even allowed to run for POTUS? Cheating is a Clinton thing; lawlessness belongs to both Bill and Hillary and the Obama's and they are experts of getting the not-so-brain-dead to look the other way, the brain dead are the easy to fool sheeple..you know, the paid protesters, brainless rioters and liars....mayors and other civil servants whose morels and values have gone down the racist toilet. Hillary's baggage is way over the limit!

And he was a great deal more intelligent than Hillary or Bill, succeeding despite having none of the slick charisma, in fact a persona and physical appearance that was quite opposite, of the latter. His downfall was at the hands of the American press, who were finally able to get their man after two decades of intensely trying. Nixon was no more corrupt than a small proportion of politicians and far less than most. The Clintons are a callous, calculating, and clumsy criminal enterprise from start to finish.

The Pre-Partisan Caucus (PPC) [prepartisan.org] is initiated by John C. Rankin where the assumption is that honest political leaders love hard questions.
It is suitable for legislators to join and convene, at the federal and state levels.
We are all partisans we all have opinions about what makes for the best public policies. Partisan is a good term if used for stating honest opinions within the checks and balances of political debate. The starting point is The Six Pillars of Honest Politics:
- The power to give affirms that the unalienable rights of life, liberty and a free market economy are given by the Creator to all people equally, and leaders in government should serve such a gift.
- The power to live in the light means leaders in human government at every level should be as fully transparent as possible.
- The power of informed choice is rooted in honest definitions of terms in political debate, providing a level playing field for all ideas to be heard equally, apart from which political freedom is not possible.
- The power to love hard questions is in place when political leaders honor and answer those who pose them the toughest questions.
- The power to love enemies recognizes that even the harshest of political opponents share a common humanity and are to be treated with respect.
- The power to forgive recognizes the need to address our individual and societal transgressions against one another, and to work toward justice and reconciliation.
These six pillars are by definition pre-partisan. In other words, they set the table for healthy partisan debates over public policy, in service to the consent of the governed. The deepest partisanship is the creation of a level playing field for all partisan ideas to be equally heard, where the pursuit of truth in any and all matters becomes possible. Truth will always rise to the top in an honest process.
Political leaders who join the PPC affirm such a foundation, and this is embodied in the Committee on Political Ideas (COPI):
- COPIs purpose is to be sure all ideas for political debate are publicly discussed in an open-ended fashion.
- COPIs panel has two co-chairs representing distinct partisan positions and political philosophies, and the balance of its members represent the full range of the same.
- COPI has no lawmaking function, but rather serves as an information resource for lawmakers who work on writing law.
- On a chosen topic, COPI receives applications from partisans, prioritizes their testimonies, and works through them until all ideas have been fully aired, and when all involved know there are no new questions to be raised. An audience is involved in the dialogue, selected from among those who have expertise in the matter, and who ask to be included.
- Written presentations for COPI are a maximum 1,000 words, presented orally, there is no limit on annotation, and each presentation is followed by dialogue in all directions until the partisan is satisfied that he or she has been fully heard.
- The PPC chooses a suitable location in the Capitol for a given topic. Each session establishes a definite timetable, with a protocol in place for setting the next session, on forward until done.
- The panel members then each write a maximum 500 words (no footnotes) of what they have learned as to a) the facts of the issue and thus b) their own recommended strategies for a healthy political resolution; the sum of which is published in a report.
Three initial COPIs are envisioned:
- The Nature and Size of Government: Questions of Life, Liberty and Property.
- Race Relations and the Pursuit of Freedom and Justice.
- The Middle East, the United States and a Healthy Foreign Policy.

I agree with your comments too.
I would go so far as to say that many of our citizens today, Bill Clinton almost single-handedly destroyed morals as a valued part of their life styles.

I agree. Interesting point...
Nixon was made out to be pure evil because of his taping.
Come to find out, Johnson and Kennedy did it too.
Never a harsh word about that, even though they not Nixon introduced it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if other presidents did some taping.
