This past weekend has been heady one for our friends on the soft-core left. Without ever attending a meeting, let alone a march, or even making a donation, they got to celebrate Obergefell v. Hodges as if it were V-J day.
These are the same people, of course, who protested not a peep in 1996 when Bill Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act into law, the same people who voted giddily for Barack Obama in 2008 despite his avowed support for traditional marriage, the same people who cannot wait until their next water cooler encounter to dress down some hapless co-worker as a bigot. Moral hauteur has never come so cheaply.
So immune are our friends to history, they likely do not know who it is they have to thank for the accelerated transmutation of this highly unlikely idea into law. As I note in my forthcoming book, Scarlet Letters, if there were a Che Guevara in this movement, it was his hysterical homeboy, Perez Hilton.
Born Mario Armando Lavandeira in Miami, Hilton had rechristened himself in homage to airhead celebrity Paris Hilton and gossiped his way to fame, if not fortune, through his supremely catty blog. Well before he turned thirty, Hilton emerged as what one gay rival called the medias bad-boy darling go-to gay.
A natural neo-puritan, Hilton prided himself on outing those celebrities who chose not to share their sexual inclinations with the world. In 2006, he had scored a media hit when he forced former Doogie Howser star Neil Patrick Harris to admit his homosexuality.
We are so proud (despite the nay-sayers) in having a hand in bringing about change, Hilton boasted at the time. Weve said it before and we will say it again: the closet no longer exists if you are a celebrity

Just changing my tagline....
oops
one more time
Yeah I did.....but I did because even sarcasm would not have made much sense to me, as far as I am aware there were never any comparative relationships with jim Jones and hitler. So I just did not get it and neither did the other guy.
As to drinking Koolaid however....It’s one of Trumps favorite drinks, as you will soon discover as this campaign proceeds.
Having said that, I admire his stance on this one issue. But it likely to remain just one issue as trump begins to show you what he thinks...
Unfortunately, I already know..
kidding...
Isn’t that the guy who sings “Pretty Woman”...
heh
Pretty woman, at least I hope she is
Pretty woman, I can’t be sure, she’s not the truth
..
never mind...
I hate Illinois Orbisonites.
Excellent post.
I have never supported Trump, for a multitude of reasons. You have given me a whole new laundry list of facts to explain why not.
This information needs to be out there in front of every potential pro-Trump voter. Once again, FR doing the job the major media won’t do.
Thank you.
Thank you. Trump's liberal past is out there for all to see. The list of his liberal leanings is longer still. He recently added to it by stating he supported a "path for legal status [amnesty] for those in the country ILLEGALLY as long as they were productive", meaning as long as they were taking an American job.
It is a fact for someone to support this man they must ignore the fact that they are supporting a liberal.
Thanks again.
Are you gay, or do you simply wish Trump was?
Instead of asking such a moronic question, why don’t you take a look at post #16 and try to defend your liberal candidate?
For your list.
Trump on bank bailouts. “You had to do something to shore up the banks, because ... you would have had a run on every bank,”
On auto bailouts. I think the government should stand behind them 100 percent, You cannot lose the auto companies. Theyre great. They make wonderful products.
Thanks for the info. :-)
And, similarly, Trump at first refused to let a transsexual who forged his application into his Miss Universe Canada pageant. But after a few days, he relented and let her stay in the competition.
Once Trump felt like the public, at least the most vocal elements, was not with him on defying the homosexual agenda, he caved in. He simply went with the flow of public opinion instead of standing up for principles.
You know, if you are going to post a load of supposed quotes you really need to source them. They don’t have much convincing value if you don’t.
Ridiculous?
...nicely said, and fact backed... but, but, but, people can change.. can’t they????
tRump, because he’s such a winner...like when he pocketed $32 Million while his group of casino investors LOST $100 Million in the same timeframe, an 89% loss while other casinos were booking huge profits! I’m sure his “partner investors” consider him a winner....
