Last year, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley dismissed the Confederate flag as an issue for the state to be concerned about. But in the wake of the Charleston church shooting, with renewed attention on what the Confederate flag symbolizes, Haley––flanked by a score of South Carolina legislators––announced that they all support efforts to take down the Confederate flag from the state capitol.
Ann Coulter appeared with Kennedy on Fox Business Network tonight and said that there are a lot of people getting the history of that flag wrote, as well as ignoring the Democrats’ history with the Confederacy, the flag, and African-Americans.
At one point, she said, “I’m appalled by––though, I really like to like Nikki Haley since she is a Republican. On the other hand, she is an immigrant and does not understand America’s history.”
Kennedy asked, “Immigrants can’t understand history?” Coulter responded, “Well, she doesn’t!”
Update- 10:22 pm EST: Kind of an important clarification here, but Haley was actually born in South Carolina. Her parents were immigrants.

Now THAT’s an idea I could get behind. There are a number of islands on the sea route between Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. that would be perfect. Navigate close to shore, then throw them overboard to fend for themselves in a natural environment. Station a couple of destroyers offshore to shoot down any rescue aircraft. Best guess - “Lord of the Flies” on steroids.
Excuse me but my Father was raised by immigrants (Polish & Ukrainian) and there was no one more patriotic than my Dad (now deceased & a WWII vet of Pearl Harbor)! Unless you're 100% American Indian heritage, somewhere along the line people in your family were "raised by immigrants".

Yep...really bad mistake labeling Haley as an immigrant, although in retrospect, I doubt the governor has much appreciation for 19th century American political calamities...
so I cut her a little slack in calling for the removal of the flag, though I think it’s the wrong move at the wrong time...I’m more appalled at her phony weeping the morning after the event, so as to proffer the properly aggrieved political expression...
Well, do we really want license plates treated as free-for-alls? Want your kids to read all manner of obscenity on vanity plates?

I’m betting that “Approve” column falls right in line with public schools teaching of revisionist American History.
Why do you still retain the “immigrant” consciousness? Is that a good thing on your part? If an immigrant is patriotic, he is patriotic. Admiral Zumwalt was a Polish Jewish immigrant, literally, and he was far more patriotic than most of the people in Washington by far, besides being much more intelligent. In case you haven’t noticed, a vast number of immigrants have no desire to become Americans like your ancestors. In fact, they are the exact opposite, as I have personally heard some say so. And, my ancestors were pioneers, not immigrants. There was nothing here when they arrived.

As a Son of Confederate Veterans member, I can say this all is due to a lack of education regarding history.
This flag was stolen by various hate groups. It has never been, nor will ever be a symbol of hate.
This flag primarily helped confederate troops identify one another on the battlefield.
Shall we ban the Bonnie Blue as well? The knee jerk reaction by folks in order to pander to one group or another is simply astounding and sad.
I'm no historian by any stretch, but I can assure you this, when governments begin the march to erase/rewrite history...watch out! All of us, on both sides of the aisle.
Just ask the victims of the Nazi party, Stalin, Lenin, Chinese Communist. Erase history, erase heritage and they are half way through to controlling the young.
I’ll try one last time. Why do you think the writers of the Constitution stipulated that for someone to be president, that person had to be a “natural born citizen.”? That is the only place in the Constitution where that wording and requirement are mentioned. I was commenting on what Anne Coulter said, not your family tree, nor their degree of patriotism, nor their Americanism.

Ann Coulter has been on both sides of this debate for years. It depends on what audience she's speaking to on any given day. If she's at a Lincoln Day dinner in a northern state, she celebrates the union and says "our party freed the slaves". If she's speaking to some Tea Party group in the deep south, she embraces the confederate flag and claims the civil war "had nothing to do with slavery".
I've also heard she's taken both sides on the question of whether Jews need to accept Christ so they be saved. Again, it depends on her audience that day.

Call me a sexist, but most of this over-reaction in almost all places is caused by women. Although many exceptions exist, they are just too emotional and cannot separate emotions from what is important. It is not a coincidence that the last time a majority of white men voted for a Democrat for President was the landslide victory of LBJ in 1964.
Coulter is right. Haley has no concept of the history of the South. I hope she’s in her last term because good luck running for Governor again. Roy Barnes thought he would get rid of the GA flag in a midnight session and get a 2nd term as Governor. That did not work out well.

If you were a true American, there would be prominent a state flag.
You do not understand what type of country we live in, as this is one of a combined collection of states, not just a federal govt that the states decided to form for defense.
Go read the Bill of Rights, particularly the 10th Amendment.
As a history lesson to you, that 10 Amendment is the reason the War Between the States occurred the Confederate flag flew. It was NOT a civil war as you spoke.
Well, talk to your fellow immigrants who I have run across. Serving on jury duty with them is an eye-opener.
