While seven GOP presidential contenders were in Boone, Iowa for Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) Roast and Ride over the weekend, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was in North Carolina organizing his campaign in the state and meeting with party leaders. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) wasn’t in Iowa either, as he had events in New Hampshire. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush also skipped the Roast and Ride.
According to the Raleigh News and Observer, Cruz needled Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) from afar, saying they “don’t fit naturally into any bracket.”
“Either or both could choose to come compete with me in the conservative bracket,” Cruz said. “But I don’t think that is likely. If you look at their records, look at the teams they have hired, if you look at the decisions they are making real-time in the campaign, I think both have decided to compete in the moderate bracket. Indeed, I think Walker and Rubio will become the chief moderate rivals for Jeb Bush in that bracket.”
“There are couple of consequences of that,” Cruz added. “It means those guys are going to spend millions of dollars tearing each other apart because first they have to win their own bracket, which is why you have seen those candidates taking shots at each other already.”

I'm one of the first ones who gave to Cruz's campaign when he announced. But now I wonder if actions like this should define what conservatives want.
On the facts of the matter, Cruz seems to me to be quite correct!
His style of analysis is an attack on no one, really, and therefore harms no ticket.
As a decent candidate Cruz can state a simple point as he sees it and also define himself in the process, as a conservative.
It’s called “informing the voters”, of wth is going on, from sort of his perch in the race. I thought it informative, actually.

Ok, I see your point. I just don’t want our candidates destroying each other like they’ve done in the past. Especially with such a ridiculous and vulnerable candidate on the other side.

I hate teh fact they do this stuff because the libtard media and pols just relish it and make THIS CRAP the news and try to encourage us to eat our own, for them.
I say make the distinctions but without the comments that will feed the press, and make them make this crap the news rather than what they are actually saying. It gives the liberal media the “legitimacy” to turn the storylines into “eating each other” and “pubs are doomed”, etc, all that bs propaganda crapola.
Agreed. I don’t mind the GOP candidates comparing their respective views on various topics. I do mind the “I’m more conservative than you” name-calling crap that always seems to happen in primary season.

I suppose his “conservative to the bone” principles impelled him to vote for Obama’s globalist agenda SECRET trade bill. I am still trying to get some Cruz supporters to acknowledge his vote in support of Obama. Is it possible, in a sane world, for anyone who claims to be conservative to actually trust Obama? Cruz’s voting does not match his conservative blather.
