Heavy Metal Clocks, Pb-Pb Dating Model: Radioactive Dating, Part 8
by Vernon R. Cupps, Ph.D. *
that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting. (Ephesians 4:14)
This final article of the series examines the common-lead method of radioactive dating, sometimes referred to as the Pb-Pb method. This method reaches the pinnacle of radioisotope dating methods in terms of complication and convolution. Since we do not want to be tossed to and fro by every teaching that cunning men put in front of us, lets carefully investigate this methods viability as a reliable clock for terrestrial and extraterrestrial rock formations.
Our investigation begins with the three so called isochron equations listed in a previous Acts & Facts article that are the foundation for the U-Pb and Th-Pb dating methods.1 Straightforward application of these equations generally yields discordant results; i.e., the dates obtained disagree by more than the stated measurement errors allow.2 In fact, Gunter Faure states that this must be taken as evidence that one or more of the dating method assumptions are not satisfiedessentially nullifying the method.3

Fishtank's word association for 'heavy metal clocks'.....
Careful - that Loc-Nar is dangerous.
KISS sold some kind of novelty clock back in the 70s, didn’t they?
Does that qualify?
I’ve had a couple of radioactive dates.
I was active while the radio was on.............
Is there anything they didn't sell?.............
In all seriousness, I don’t think so.
They were marketing madmen.
It's entirely possible, and perfectly reasonable to believe that any given sample may be contaminated. It's insanity to believe all of them must be.
That clock can go all the way up to hour 13
But couldn’t you just recalibrate the markings on the clock clock so 12 was the highest hour?
I went to a KISS concert back in 76. It was one of the best concerts I ever went to. They really knew how to put on a great show......................
My departed aunt used to work in a factory where they would hand-apply radium to the tips of clocks so they would glow in the dark.
I suppose He might find it amusing when we are stupid enough to tell Him what He can and can't, or did or didn't do.
