Fifa scandal: Why the US is policing a global game
BBC News ^ | May 27, 2015 | Paul Blake

America does not even like football, or so many people think. Why is it leading the charge against alleged Fifa corruption?

At dawn, Swiss police rounded up seven Fifa officials at the behest of US authorities who have conducted a massive investigation into corruption at football's governing body.

So how did a country where football is more niche than entrenched come to police the world's beautiful game? "Too many countries are cowed by Fifa," said Alexandra Wrage, a former Fifa anti-bribery adviser who resigned in protest from the organisation.

"As with international bribery more generally, the US Department of Justice has said they'll step up to investigate corruption if others won't," she said.

Good. Now go after the IOC. And then the FIA. Not the sham German prosecution of the FIA. Do a real one.

Hosting a World Cup is a lot of money, especially for a country that won’t have to build the stadiums, as is the case with the US.

“As with international bribery more generally, the US Department of Justice has said they’ll step up to investigate corruption if others won’t,”

Really? Where’s the prosecution of the Clinton Crime Foundation?

Look, guys, if you’re bribing people in the U.S. and none of it passes through the Clinton Fund, you’re asking for trouble. Nice little game you got there. Pity if something were to happen to it...

Why? I'll tell ya why.. Because the Clinton Foundation is knee deep in doo-doo with the FIFA folks. The more documentation Loretta Lynch can tuck under her wing, the more successful the COVER-UP OF HILLARY'S CRIMES. This show is all about protecting Queen Hillary and her Clinton Foundation crimes.

Just wondering.. Was the donation to the Clinton Foundation in the amount of $1 million in 2014, before or after 0dungo released the 5 Taliban commanders from Gitmo to Qatar?

Clarification: Donation was FROM Qatar to the Clinton Foundation in the amount of at least $1 MILLION. Did this happen before or after the Gitmo release to Qatar????

Well, the DOJ won’t go against the Crinton Crime Fam, Sharpton’s tax evasion, Bammy’s treason, so what else do they have to do?

LOL! You know, as soon as I posted that I was wondering if maybe it had already been overtaken by events. Me making suggestions to Hillary about bribery is like a kindergarten finger-painter giving advice to Rembrandt.

This has nothing to do with FIFA. This about Lynch making her bones as an Attorney General. This investigation must have been going on for quite some time but they waited till she was in place to give her the bust. Establishing her bona fides so when she goes after TEA partiers they can say she’s not political.

Diversion. And a threat to their minions to shut up.

Wont go after corruption in our own IRS, but it seems European kick-ball is a priority.

"As with international bribery more generally, the US Department of Justice has said they'll step up to investigate corruption if others won't," she said.

They have to do something to keep themselves busy since they won't prosecute the multitude of criminals in the Obama administration.

I think that is little doubt that Hillary is "up to her neck" in bribery scandal... She has been totally compromised...

We don't like football?? Why does Americans watch the Superbowl? Oh, you meant soccer...

We are worried about FIFA, because ISIS is too terrifying for the Moron in Chief.

I bet the DOJ will end this when they learn the Clintons were on the take from FIFA
