Bristol Palin and fiancé Dakota Meyer are calling off their wedding, which was set to take place this weekend.
Former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin announced the cancellation of her daughter’s nuptials in a Monday Facebook post, writing the couple has “informed loved ones that unfortunately the announced celebration planned for May 23 will not be held.”
Palin wrote that, although it won’t be a walk down the aisle, a shindig of some sort will still go on: “Many friends and family still look forward to getting together that day in Kentucky anyway — and the Palins and Meyers are happily looking forward to still being at ‘the old Kentucky home’ on May 23 to celebrate life, in general!” Bristol Palin, a 24-year-old former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant and mom to 6-year-old Tripp, had announced her engagement to Meyer, a Marine and Medal of Honor recipient, back in March.
Recently, the pair had been dogged by a tabloid report claiming Meyer had a “secret wife” whom he had married as a teen and subsequently divorced.

Of course it was the networks show, but it was Sarah Palin’s name on the show, who happened to be a former governor, a one time vice presidential candidate and a person aspiring to be POTUS. I think she could have done better than Kate plus eight........Do not tell me she didn’t have control of the integrity of the show and if she didn’t protect her name contractually then she was stupid or greedy, you pick.

Well I do think that comes into play very much with the “Palin Way” so to speak. It’s rough country out there and I think the people have to have a tough exterior to handle it. This will naturally play over into the media spots etc. they’re in.
That does also attract certain individuals of like kind I think...and they certainly hit home with the grass roots in our nation at first. Many of which can relate.
I too can put on that rough exterior if I need to...but rare I find myself in such a place to need to do so. I think also they are like country folk here...I was raised in the country but a “Townie”...and kids did draw a line between the farm boys and the kids in town...all the way throughout High School as well.
The Governor and her family are still popular and influential with Christians and conservatives, the grass roots that make up the ta party and conservatism.
Governor Palin is the most influential republican in America.
That is why Senator Cruz says that she made him a Senator.

To me it was great fun while it lasted...but they are now just entertainers...except for the occasions where Sarah might step up to the podium. She does have a following that will likely stay with her for years. But I don’t think Sarah is interested in going any further than she’s doing now.
Sarah didn’t make Cruz Senator.... she like others worked for that but none moreso than Cruz and his wife...they carried their own weight and were greatly admired to begin with. Sarah was once more doing what she does...gathering her followers to him.

Governor Palin is the most valued endorsement in America, and has helped deliver historical victories in 2010, our only Senate seat pick up (and Ted Cruz) in 2012 and ran 22 for 24 in the even larger historical gains of 2014.
That is why Senator Ted Cruz credits her with making him a senator.
