Do you mind posting a link to the other site? Sounds like some interesting information. Obviously a bomb on the tracks is all too plausible. (Years ago when Israel was having so much terrorism I kept thinking how easy it would be for them to do that here.)

Just as a newspaper guy who listens to the scanner a lot, that could be for manpower more than anything else. Depending on how they call up people for an emergency, that may be SOP.
It could indicate something else, but could be part of a mass-casualty incident plan.

Took the turn too fast.
Engine separated from the rest of the train, left tracks, and made it over to the nearby tracks.
The following two cars struck an embankment at a high rate of speed — hence the mangling.

WOW if that’s true, sounds like something ISIS would do..remember all the warnings we have heard these past few days about how ISIS terrorists are ready to attack here, this sounds like something right up their alley
I’m betting that the first wheel hit a pressure switch, causing the explosion under the front of the lead car. Perhaps the upward explosion lifted the nose of the first car and it went off the rails, separating (by design) from the rest of the train... which plowed forward into the now-mangled rail.

That seems to be it. The crash was at Frankford Ave. and Wheatsheaf Lane, as reported by one source, and this pinpoints it, as verified by the overhead structure in view, and other details visible in Google Earth. CNN was just showing massive flashlight inspection of the curve, and the video appeared pristine.
Yeah, looks like that’s the one. Same curve, two awful crashes.
