According to the government, the Social Security trust fund is due to go broke in 2033. But two recent studies show that the Social Security Administration is using incorrect accounting procedures and that the fund will run out of the money years before that.

Here are 2 articles on how to solve the stealing of our money. Congress naturally wants no part of it as they have you pay their pensions.

Social Security was never meant or intended to be a substitute for a pension or savings,
Well the private corporations got greedy and got rid of pensions. The savings accounts are getting less then a percent on your money and the Stock Market is good and bad depending on who you talk too. So how is it that people are supposed to have a decent retirement without SS? Social Security at least ensures that you are not homeless. I mean it is only 1300 dollars a month average. So due to the selfish companies, the horrible government and the economy that has never really been great, people who worked their lives are supposed to suffer? i guess so according to you. You could save every dime you made and put it into the Stock Market and if the timing sucks, you are in trouble.
lol. I didn’t even get that class and I knew about it!! I’m pretty sure I could explain it to my 10 year old niece
And no one is considering what happens if there is another financial crisis. US Government deficit will easily go above $1.5 Trillion and if unemployment climbs to 8-10%, contributions to S.S. trust fund will drop drastically.
But.....but.....what about the “Lockbox”?
rofl. if it wasn’t so sad...
LOL, trust.
Guaranteed to go broke the day before I turn 62.
they’ve been printing money for years. what does an account balance matter to these people?
oh yea... they want to cause strife and turmoil and possibly the collapse of the country.
When refugees bring over grand ma and grandpa, they are immediately signed up for ss.
Wasn’t that Francis?
Ss and SSDI come from the same pot.
What needs to happen is cut off the deadbeats who are young and collecting SSD. The outright fraud in that program is mindboggling. There are millions of able-bodied Americans collecting SSD. And they brag about it.
Yep, ol' FU was an evil man and a 'RAT, please pardon the redundancy. Yet for a few moments in that speech, he said some fiscally sound things.
There is no trust fund. SS taxes go into the general treasury.
I believe I put quotes around "Trust Fund" for that very purpose.
My point was that I don't believe SSDI is charge against the Social Security account and is actually appropriated.
“Well the private corporations got greedy and got rid of pensions.”
As is their right. There is no law requiring a private business to provide pensions.
It would be funny to hear that some crooked politician’s last words were,”Granny, what are you doing here?”
As is their right. In fact, it's up to a well-managed company to be "selfish" since their first duty is to maximize profits. Companies have a solemn imperative to return as much as possible to the stakeholders. If cutting pensions achieves that aim, then so be it.
After all, the chief business of the American people is business. They are profoundly concerned with producing, buying, selling, investing and prospering in the world. I am strongly of the opinion that the great majority of people will always find these the moving impulses of our life.
I hate to inform you, as a business owner, I am not the welfare office. The deal is, you provide me value, and I pay you for it, no more or no less is owed. It is up to you to take care of yourself, not me. The greedy companies are those who took the risk, had the onions, to try and make it in this world. Some win and some lose. It is chances you take, and if you lose, you pick yourself up and try again. Most business owners idea of retirement is a pine box.
