Governor Brown tells critics of water tunnels project to 'shut up'

SACRAMENTO — Gov. Jerry Brown took a sarcastic approach to critics of his $15 million twin tunnel plan Wednesday, saying unless they have invested a million hours working on the problem as his staff has, they should "shut up."

The Democratic governor made the comments while speaking to officials from California water agencies, who have widely varying views on the project. He said he asked his "water man" how many hours have been invested on efforts to build tunnels to send water around the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and the answer was 1 million.

"Until you put a million hours into it, shut up," Brown said to laughter. "You don't know what the hell you're talking about."

That works out to 114 employees working non stop 7 days a week 24 hours per day for one year. That amounts to some serious overtime. Somebody should contact the California Labor Board.

Some how Gov. “Brown” seem to to be an appropriate name for his water shortage administration

I invested 30 seconds and can come up with a workable solution. Just have to tell red doper diaper babies to shut up.

OK, I'm up to the challenge.

There, I just put in a million dhimmicrat hours into it, and you idea is every bit as cockeyed now as it was a million hours ago. LOL

lol. all they had to do was build it to the ocean.

I'm afraid this f-35 is another million hour boondoggle. The A10 seems to be superior and alot of trouble with the F.

But i know only what i read and the military guys on this board would be the ones in the know.

We can reduce California water demand by deporting the 10% of the state population that is here ILLEGALLY!

Best question to respond with...

How many hours of study went into the bullet train to nowhere Mr. Governor?

I’ll bet most Californians wish more questions had been asked about that little project?

As a follow-up, could you please tell us how much water will be provided by the bullet train project?

There is no collection of “public leeches” in all of California that have “worked” 1 million hours .... however; the state was probable charged for at least 1 million hours.

two underground tunnels, 40 feet across and 30 miles long,

15 million? Now that's a bargain.

Some of these dingbats have told me how they think it is Deukmejian and Wilson (republican governors from 1983-1999) that have caused all the problems and that Brown as governor in the 70s did a good job and Davis was “unfairly maligned”...I'm surprised they didn't extend the lie by going after the governor we all know from about 1967-1975.

He wouldn't redeem himself, but can you imagine what would happen if he were to stop the train madness and instead fast tracked permitting of desal plants along the coastline (besides environmentalists imploding)?

If he’s willing to pay me, I’d sit around for a million. Hours and think about a project too. Guarantee it’ll be just as fleshed out and feasible too.

Moonbeam said his staff had invested a million hours working on the plan? How many staff members worked on this plan, I just want to know how to divide up the twenty-five thousand weeks of planning time. I shouldn't be surprised at the stupidity from Brown, after all that's why we call him moonbeam, or the arrogance since he is a liberal gaia worshipper. But what galls me is attitude from a jerk that has had a big part in the way California is screwed up and the lack of water storage that is making the effects of the drought worse.
