In a rebuke to the hawks of his party, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) indicated on Tuesday that he will move forward with a Senate bill on the Iran nuclear agreement by limiting votes on amendments that demand more conditions from the Iranians.
Though no definitive schedule was announced, Republicans left their weekly luncheon suggesting that no further tinkering would be done to the bill.
Speaking to reporters after that luncheon concluded, McConnell would not utter the word "cloture," saying only that he was trying to "move quickly" while considering other, less controversial amendments.
In addition to the diminishing will within the Senate to debate further tweaks to the bill, McConnell may also find his hand forced by logistical time constraints.
It is still possible that McConnell and Corker will reach an agreement to vote on a series of non-controversial amendments. Either way, it is expected that the Majority Leader will move to end debate and schedule a vote on the bill by Thursday.

According to the London TimesOnline, Iran is capable of producing a nuclear warhead and is simply waiting on orders from the Supreme Leader to begin production. The Times said Western intelligence sources say once the Islamic regime receives gets permission, it would have a complete nuclear bomb built within one year.
Once the Supreme Leader, the Ayatollah Khamenei gives the orders, Iran would become a nuclear-armed nation within one year. Sources say it would take about six months to enrich enough uranium, depending on how many centrifuges are operating, and another six months to build the nuclear device. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s has warned Iran that the US will protect its allies with a defense umbrella, that is an indication that the administration has reconciled itself to a nuclear Iran. Clinton’s comment as well as the President’s desire for “engagement” with Iran is dangerously naive.
A “defense umbrella” will not work on Iran because President Ahmadinejad doesn’t care if Iran gets destroyed in a nuclear exchange. Ahmadinejad, has said that it is every good Muslim’s responsibility to he destroy Israel. Ahmadinejad sees politics as the “continuation of war by other means.” When asked by students to define “what’s the most beautiful for a Muslim on earth,” he answered very matter of fact: “To kill and be killed.” Ahmadinejad is convinced that he has been chosen by God to hasten the Mahdi’s (Muslim Messiah) return. The way to achieve this goal for the Iranian president is the occurrence of a nuclear Holocaust.

Yeah, ‘cause Yertle is, like, a master strategist. Or something. Three dimensional chess player and all.
I’ve been hearing that crap for years.
You are far too nice sir. He is a real POS.

Battered Conservative Syndrome is kicking in again.
It’s high time we recognize that McConnell and Boehner are as dangerous as Obama is. They enable every step he takes. He couldn’t do 1/10th the stuff he has without their help.
Boehner could facilitate the cutting off of funds for just about anything he wanted to. He hasn’t cut the funding for one thing that I know of.
Vote no.
He knows that the GOP lemming crowd will vote for him n matter what. There are ZERO consequences. it takes guys to let these people lose to a Dim. Only then will America see. But ... I expect to have left this world WAY before that occurs to most GOP voters.
Is anyone here old enough to remember the last time it mattered that we had a majority or repubs in either chamber?
We would have been better off if KY had elected Matt Bevin.
I think we would even have been better off if Grimes had won.
“Let me grab my ankles. You like it when I do that? Want me to move to the right? Want me to move to the left? Anything you want Obie, anything.” -Mitch McConnell
Boehner and McConnell are just as dangerous to the republic as any group of Dems. They are the enemy.
And every Republican Senator voted for him to be their leader.
