Ben Carson, retired neurosurgeon turned conservative star, has confirmed that he will seek the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.
Carson, who has never run for public office, is expected to be the only high-profile African-American to enter the GOP’s presidential primary as he tries to parlay his success as an author and speaker into a competitive campaign against established politicians.
“I’m willing to be part of the equation and therefore, I’m announcing my candidacy for president of the United States of America,” he said in an interview aired Sunday night by Ohio’s WKRC television station.
He is set to make a more formal announcement during a speech from his native Detroit on Monday.

So far there is exactly one conservative in the race going by his record, positions and associations. Cruz. The FACT that so many lately (not you) have already gone to ridiculous extremes to minimize him and eliminate him as a consideration shows the liberalism rampant here.
Well, he has that black pop appeal. Maybe he can grab some of Jeb’s votes.

I like and admire Dr. Carson, but he’s not ready. Maybe he will be next time, but he’s just too green when it comes to cutthroat politics. Maybe a cabinet post in a Republican administration will give him the right experience and induce him to change his opinions on things.
Secretary of HHS would work. Or he could fill the Surgeon General position. These are jobs where he should be able to excel.
Maybe you can go fromn zero to the House of Representatives, but not to the presidency, even if you are a famed neurosurgeon.
He could be the “BlackLivesMatter” Cabinet Department Head.

LOL.
He has many great things about him. But he has several positions contrary to conservatism and in the gun case, contrary to the Constitution. As a Doctor he has a bias about guns that many in his profession share. It’s deep seated and to be honest, I would no more believe he could come to Jesus on the 2A than I believe John Kerry got him a hunting salience more than once in his life.
There are several posts he could hold I’d be fine with. But not as President or VP.
Carson has supported the idea of everyone carrying their medical records encoded in a microchip under their skin

Extraordinary accusation. Please back that up with a link immediately. I could not find one.
He seems to be the only one who truly gets the harm being inflicted by the homosexual agenda. I won’t vote for anyone who isn’t crystal clear on this issue and doesn’t think it’s worth fighting for.
The very open and very tolerated attacks on Christianity in general and biblical sexual morality in particular reveal the rampant liberalism here.
Witness the sympathy for the Muslims a few minutes ago on one of the threads about the attacks in Garland.

I like Ben a lot. I don’t think he is ready to run for President. If he was a dem it wouldn’t matter. But the media will tear him apart. A shame because his story should be an example for ALL youth.

Type Ben Carson guns in google and you will find several thousand stories. So you obviously didn’t look awfully hard.
