The fact that not every Republican presidential candidate is a white male may help in the fight against the Democrats/
The Republican presidential field is expected to double this week, as retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee are expected to declare their candidacies. Carson and Fiorina are expected to announce on Monday, while Huckabee is summoning the press on Tuesday to his hometown of Hope, Arkansas - a town made famous by Bill Clinton, who, upon becoming the Democratic presidential nominee in 1992, famously declared: I still believe in a place called Hope.
The three will join Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio - all freshmen U.S. Senators - in a field that could balloon to double digits. While this second wave of announcements wont include a top-tier contender, each of these candidates has the potential to increase their stature, help drive the debate on the Right, and change deep-seated perceptions about the Republican Party.
To begin, the diversity of this nascent field is worth noting: Of the six Republican candidates that will likely be in the race by the end of the week, only two of them (Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee) are white males. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are Hispanic, Carly Fiorina is obviously a woman, and Dr. Ben Carson is black....

H! is a 1%er who want YOU to continue to live in your Mom’s basement.
Actually, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are also white males.
We must stop “winner take all”!! or that damned bush will win with 16% How can we be this stupid!!!????
As far as attacking The Thing from different angles (and she’s big enough), it is good. But sooner than later it has to be whittled down. And by that I mean Cruz :)
IIRC, primaries before April 1 (most elections, the nominee is decided by then) *can’t* be winner-take-all, and the national convention requires a majority so the ‘most votes’ aren’t enough.
A diverse range of candidates will ONLY help us if a few of them are RINOS. We had one RINO in ‘08 and lost the general. We had one semi-RINO in 12 and lost the general.
The problem is that our vote gets split 20 ways but the RINO gets all his establishment base. However a RINO has a hard time winning a general election.
We need to get a couple more RINOs in the primary.
