No free ride: Two-thirds of Obamacare recipients had to repay subsidies to IRS

Most filers who received government subsidies to buy Obamacare plans had to pay money back to the IRS this year, according to an H&R Block analysis released Monday that looks at the health law’s first full tax season.

The tax-prep giant studied its own massive customer base and concluded that two-thirds of its filers who got subsidies from Obamacare were overpaid during the course of the year, and owed money back to the IRS on the April 15 deadline.

They repaid $729 on average, cutting the average refund by about a third.

Sad part is, most of these drones won’t KNOW that they paid back the subsidy, as it’s hidden in the gobbledygook of a tax return that they don’t understand.

Yes it’s true! We’re paying back well over $1,000 (we used to get $$ back), and our monthly payment for Ocare went from initially around $125 to then $188 and is now at $298 (the low-end plan for one individual). There is also a $220.00 amount added on for who knows what. My husband has to check it out, but he said not to pay the over $500 bill (and this is for a low-end plan); we can’t afford it.

Tax refunds Come Now Obama Does Not Think It Is Your money, It is His Money to spend or spread it around to whomever he thinks is more deserving. As the Obamacare goes forward there will be no such thing as subsidies, it will come right from payroll, and more people will be unable to pay for it.
