Retired neurosurgeon and likely presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson this weekend endorsed Ohio Sen. Rob Portman's re-election campaign against likely Democratic challenger Ted Strickland.
"I want to see Rob Portman re-elected to the U.S. Senate and encourage Ohio voters to join his campaign and keep the Senate in Republican control," said Carson, a spokesman at the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County's annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday night in Cleveland, according to a party press release.

What on earth are you talking about?
I agree, and I gotta disagree with Impy about holding your nose for Portman in the general election against a liberal RAT. If Portman was the GOP nominee and I lived in Ohio, I'd cast a token protest vote for a third party candidate or leave that spot on the ballot blank.
I don't dispute that Portman probably votes the "right way" 70% of the time and RAT votes the right way maybe 5% of the time, but the bottom line is that Portman a gutless traitor who can't be trusted on anything. At least we know how the RAT will govern. I'd place Portman in a very rare category of "People who USUALLY vote the right way but are scumbag traitors I won't be caught dead voting for" list. Other names in that category are Peter King and the LaThug family. The vast majority of the time, I have no problem voting for someone who votes the right way 70-80% of the time.
Though I'm sure he and his supporters will falsely claim he's "solidly conservative" and only disagrees with us on "one issue"
We have an equivalent to him on the state level in Illinois -- State Rep. Ron Sandack. He stabbed the GOP on the back on gay marriage, falsely claims he only disagrees with the GOP platform on "one issue", then routinely does Madigan's bidding on other stuff behind the scenes, like voting for the fake DemonRat sponsored "pension reform" bill. It speaks volumes that his token RAT opponent got ZERO funding from the Illinois Democrats last year. They're happy having Sandack as the face of the GOP.
Both Sandack and Portman can go to hell.
Voting for a pro-abortion AG is a pro-abortion vote.
Portman is, therefore, pro-abortion.
Ohio Ping
Rob Portman should NOT be re-elected - pass the word he voted to confirm Loretta Lynch as attorney general.

Loretta Lynch Confirmed as New Attorney General Here Are the 10 Republicans Who Voted for Her
The Senate voted 56-43 in favor of Lynch, approving her with help of:
Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and others
Well, after today’s vote on Lynch, Carson makes for a fan of 1.
I’m not sure how to answer that question.
You said it would have been good if McConnell has lost to that whore democrat, Grimes. I told you why that’s an absurd position.
No, it’s not. Had Grimes won, another Republican would be running the Senate. What is absurd is continually electing RINOS who vote with Democrats.
That's right, as I've told you more than once now it would have been John Cornyn, who is less conservative than Mitch McConnell. So we would have a less conservative Senate with a less conservative Republican leader.
Thank god the people of Kentucky didn't agree with the ridiculous idea that electing that feminist/labor union whore would have been better for the country.
You can now say that Portman is officially pro-abortion. He is one of the 10 RINOs who support Loretta Lynch for AG. If you’ll recall, Lynch tried, with Planned Parenthood, to overturn the Partial Birth Abortion Ban!
If you do searches on Portman and his last campaign in Ohio, he marketed himself as a pro-life conservative. He even got the backing of the Christian Coalition. Now he’s backing LORETTA LYNCH!!! Dummy me, I voted for him. I might as well have voted for Sherrod Brown...
Umm, no, as despicable as a vote for Lynch is, it does not equate to voting for legal abortion.
We in Ohio are NOT better if we get 6 years of Red Ted.
I don’t like Portman but no one to the right of him is going to get elected as a Senator from Ohio any longer.
It’s just reality.
Well, maybe Cornyn would be more careful if his sidekick was removed. Look, I am sick and tired of the illogical mantra 9f believing it’s better to back a RINO than Democrats when they both act the same. A pox on both of them.
Then we should give up. We can’t elect conservatives. With that attitude we never will.
In New Jersey we had a race between Lonegan, an unabashed conservative, pto-life, pro-gun, pro-America versus a liberal black Democrat from Newark with a lousy record as mayor. Lonegan came close to BEATING HIM. IN NEW JERSEY.
That bum of a governor, Chris Christie, who was popular at the time refused to campaign for him. His war chest was eclipsed by money coming in to support another black Obama Clone. The national GOP gave Lonegan crap in the way of money. As udual, New Jersey RINOs faioed to back him.
He was capable of beating his opponent - in New Jersey. He lost because of RINOS - in Jersey and nationally who didn’t support him.
I will not give up. I will not surrender. I will not support another damn RINO. I will fight the Libs to my grave.
If you’re not going to listen to someone who is actually here on the ground I can’t help you.
The time isn’t right in Ohio. It could conceivably swing to the right in the next 3 elections if the cards are played properly. Going balls to the wall scorched earth like what you propose will only turn people off of the conservative brand and we’ll lose Ohio forever.
I swear that is the ulterior motive to people on FR these days...
Against Strickland, yes, but Portman needs to be ousted in a primary.
