Maya Angelou was known for her inspirational and thought-provoking quotes, so it's only fitting that a stamp commemorating her features one. A new postage stamp that was unveiled in a dedication ceremony Tuesday morning celebrating the late literary icon aimed to do just that. It features her image with the quote, "A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song." Except that quote ... isn't Angelou's.

Maya was known for appropriating the quotes of others.
That is a liberal resume' enhancer.

"Upon hearing about the misattribution, a Postal Service spokesman told The Post the quote is credited to Angelou by numerous references, including in one of President Obama's speeches in 2013." You can't make this stuff up...
Just proving that you don't need a brain to work for the government. I'm sure obama has all sorts of teams inserting his name wherever they can, one day schoolchildren will learn about his great speech that began "Four score and seven years ago................

Angelou may be one of the nation’s treasures, but you sure couldn’t prove it by me.
My memories of her include seeing her foisted off on the public at some event only to offer up some insufferable prose that made me come the closest to coughing up a fur-ball I’d been been.

I’m not a big fan of King, but it does bother me to see a sign like this. Am I misunderstanding the point?
If not, I don’t support the actions of assassins targeting people I don’t particularly care for.

Nipsey Russell was a better poet, and he never got a stamp in his honor.

I went to public schools for awhile so I know black people get all the good quotes.
Nobody cares about Foch, Churchill, or even Einstein anymore, much less our founding 'persons.' It's always something from Raisin in the Sun, maybe something from MLK when he was wiping his wee-wee off on the hotel curtains, or something Mandela said when he wasn't praising terrorists. Every once in awhile we get a real gem, but mostly, it's not about the quote, it's about the skin color of the speaker.
As the case would be if they were all chosen for their whiteness, or orangeness, They all sound the same after awhile.

But what cases of bold, outlandish, internationally acclaimed, proven fraud could be more entertaining than those of ALEX HALEY, or RIGOBERTA MENCHU?

Lauderhill has a high percentage of Amish.
The fact that they were ignorant enough to put up THAT sign is an indicator of the intelligence of the folks running that city.
