Investigation confirms Scott Walker bought a sweater for just $1
Business Insider ^ | April 3, 2015 | Leslie Larson

The discount savvy of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) has been verified as legitimate.

The Republican bragged to a New Hampshire audience on March 14 that thanks to his thrifty practices, he was able to purchase a men's sweater for $1 at a Kohl's department store in the Granite State.

.....In a joint investigation with the Wisconsin Journal Sentinel, researchers visited a Kohl's store in Glendale, Wisconsin, and combed through the clearance racks to find a walnut colored "Chaps Twisted Button Mock Sweater," that closely resembled the pullover worn by Walker for his March event.

"There we found plenty of Chaps sweaters marked between 80 and 90 percent off -- an even deeper cut than the 70% Walker cited when describing the deal. Some of the sweaters we found were originally priced at $70 and marked down to $7," PolitiFact reported Friday.

"Now, that's not $1. But Walker did say he used his 'Kohl's Cash' — a coupon of sorts that is generated based on how much a customer purchased in an earlier visit to the store," it continued. "Thus, he could have easily gotten one for $1 out-of-pocket. We rate the claim True."..

When I saw the headline, I thought it HAD to be satire. No such luck, apparently.

Meanwhile, Menendez is under indictment for, in part, having a meeting with Reid and Sibelius about modifying regs to benefit a friend- Reid and Sibelius are not under indictment and Walker gets a media colonoscopy over shopping.

Wow, this news organization will go after the truth no matter where it leads them. What did they find when they investigated Obama’s birth certificate? What? They didn’t? Oh.

It’s called idiocracy, coming in a fraction of the time that it took for the dumbed down future to happen in the movie of the same name.

It'd be much better if Walker spent like Barack Obama.

But of course that'd be with other people's money.

The vetting of ANY Republican is much more thorough than has ever been practiced on any Democrat running for office.

Anywhere.

“Caesar’s wife must be above suspicion” and all that.

In context: The associates of public figures must not even be suspected of wrongdoing. (The ancient Roman Julius Caesar is supposed to have said this when asked why he divorced his wife, Pompeia. Because she was suspected of some wrongdoing, he could not associate with her anymore.)

Clearly, Democrats are not “Caesar’s wife”.

There ought to be a word for the situation in which reality becomes satire.

There is: liberalism.

That’s nothing. I once got a shirt at REI marked down from $80 to $.03.

I once got a beautiful dust ruffle for a queen-sized bed, marked down from $75 to $1, at a Cabelas sale. My wife refused to put on the bed, though, perhaps because it was camo. Had to give it to Goodwill.

That’s part of their business, the other side is serving true outdoorsmen who actually use the gear.

That’s the side I fall into.

I camp usually a couple nights a month (winter too), hike, backpack, cycle, kayak, boat, hunt etc. All that stuff needs special gear and REI is a good resource for much of it.

I have one well worn pair of shoes with a North Face logo, nothing else. I refuse to wear the trendy clothes. Mine is usually well worn and sometime dirty and sweaty.

i never pay full-price at Kohl’s... if i like something not marked down, i go back a week later to purchase it... by then it is marked down... and with Kohl’s bucks, i often pay single digits...

There is: liberalism.

Well played.

Too bad the word isn't a little less boring.

Walker is part of a grand conspiracy of Sweater Bargain Hunters. This must be stopped at all costs.

How much did it cost these twits to undertake the investigation of a $1 sweater purchase? I'm betting over a thousand dollars. Scott Walker must be laughing his butt off. He should bankrupt them and tell a story about the time he was five and got a secret decoder ring for free.

I still question why you would ever be looking at dust ruffles :)

I’m not sure I even know what a dust ruffle is.

Wife and I went shopping at Kohl’s about 2 years ago in an after Christmas sale, and with her Kohl’s cash and the markdowns we walked out with about 4 or 5 hundred dollars worth of merchandise for less than 50 bucks. I’m sure that if we looked close enough they paid us to take some of those things off their shelves.

So they investigate this claim by Walker? There was actually more effort spent on investigating Benghazi, Obama’s grades, papers, passport, social security number, Chicago land deals, Obama’s drug use, on and on.

The MSM is a very unfunny joke.
