Washington (AFP) - The White House on Monday bluntly warned Israel that its occupation of Palestinian land must end, dismissing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's efforts to take back controversial campaign pledges.
In unusually tough language that underscores the fracture in relations between Washington and Israel, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough said "an occupation that has lasted for almost 50 years must end."
McDonough criticized Netanyahu's pre-election pledge to block the creation of a Palestinian state -- the supposed end goal of decades of fruitless peace talks -- and he questioned Netanyahu's efforts to undo the damage.
"We cannot simply pretend that those comments were never made, or that they don't raise questions about the Prime Minister's commitment to achieving peace through direct negotiations," he said.
"The Palestinian people must have the right to live in and govern themselves in their own sovereign state," he added.

The problem here is that the Palestinians are not residing on territory that is controlled by Egypt, or Jordan, or Lebanon or Syria. They are actually living and residing on land that ISRAEL gained control over ... back in 1967. Therefore, they’re not a problem for Egypt, or Jordan or Lebanon or Syria ... but only for Israel.
Those are people who BELONG TO ISRAEL and no one else, because Israel got the land in 1967. They belong to Israel because whenever a country gains land in a war, they are fully responsible for the people living there.
AND ACTUALLY, Israel doesn’t want them either, which is why Netanyahu is trying to complete the TWO-STATE SOLUTION, per his Bar-Ilan policy speech.

Yeah, Israel could starve them out, kill most in a military campaign, do all sorts of things to DRIVE THEM OUT.
IN FACT ... that’s EXACTLY what some of the Palestinians say Israel is doing now ... trying to force them out by any means possible ... like poisoning the water, wafting poisonous gasses over them, trying to bomb as many civilians as possible (instead of terrorist operatives), etc, etc.
The only problem is that those are FALSE ACCUSTIONS ... as Israel doesn’t commit war crimes (and those are war crimes, doncha know).
Israel goes out of its way to protect the civilians there and they investigate anything and everything that could be considered a war crime to make sure it’s not happening.
ISRAEL already knows that to forcefully drive out people from a conquered territory is a War Crime ... and was what Hitler did too, in some of his conquered territories.
Israel doesn’t do WAR CRIMES ... even though they are FALSELY ACCUSED of doing so by Israel’s detractors.
