I offer a baseline respect. Whether it goes up or down is up to the individual.
Pretty sure that a group that kills at a rate seven times that of the rest of society owes big time.
Police and prisons aren't cheap.
Same goes for replacing stolen property and medical treatment/burial of violent crime victims.
And the crime costs come before the even greater cost of raising all their fatherless babies on our dime.
I’ll agree to reparations as long everyone who takes it also moves their ass back to Africa and surrenders their passports and renounces their US citizenship forever.
My ancestors emigrated here around 1900 from Eastern Europe and lived in New York City. They didn’t have an easy life, but they worked at it. They and their descendents had nothing to do with slavery or segregation. So, no, we don’t owe anything, nor do any other Americans alive today.
P.S. Not one word of the Muslim slavers who raided the villages and imprisoned the African natives in the first place.
