Global Warming?
Looks slippery. Good that it didn’t end up in the drink....
It’s not the planes, but the firetrucks you have to worry about.
Flew 8000 hours out of Brunswick ME and never figured out how to slide off a runway. Delta should look hard at this Pilot. Obviously went beyond his ability.
“Delta flight 1086 arriving at gate 7, gate 8, gate 9 gate 10....”
I didnt like flying in a light rain.
Could not imagine taking off in the dead of winter.
Probably all the injured were either lawyers or had their tort lawyer on speed dial.
:-)
Amazing structural integrity on the MD-88 - plowed into the dirt berm and up it with no visible major deformation of the fuselage!

Braking action by the two aircraft in front of him was reported as “Good” by both crews.
Airliners talking about a wind shift, and a quick temp drop.
Flash freeze?
1) Failure of the anti-skid system.
2) Assymetrical thrust (in either forward or reverse thrust mode) or
3) Pilot error i.e. failure to properly employ the anti-skid system or thrust reversers or improper position of the thrust levers.
Weather is a factor, although all planes made it without incident nationwide, for weeks of winter weather.
Another choice would be to get a good RCR reading and then land on speed at a proper touchdown point.
“2) Assymetrical thrust (in either forward or reverse thrust mode) or “
That sounds painful.
NEEDS LONGER RUNWAYS.....................
A good HABIT, “land on speed and at the proper touchdown point!”
If not on speed and touchdown will be long, go around. (period)
Wall to wall coverage. Question. If a plane slid off the runway at Kansas City International airport would it make a sound?
I fly in there once in a while for their fly-ins.
They just had an incident at Brunswick when the #7 Blue Angles jet skidded off the end of the runway preparing for take off. It was black ice and they airport was completely at fault.
Runways are short at lga
It was Snowing and they forgot to put the chains on before they landed ?
