U.S. envoy to Seoul Mark Lippert was seriously injured Thursday morning after being attacked by an armed assailant, official sources said.
The envoy was on his way to attend a morning lecture in central Seoul when the attack took place.
Lippert, bleeding heavily, was rushed to a nearby hospital, the sources said, adding that the suspect was immediately arrested although his or her identity is still not known.
A fruit with a ten inch knife perhaps?
From which golf course?
This one paid extra special attention in class.
Updates say ambassador lucky to be alive. Face wound took 80 stitches—a little deeper and artery would have been cut.
if only someone would successfully slash Kim Jong Un .....
Apparently attacked by a pro union activist wanting union of North/South Korea, an extremist nationalist, with a razor.
Obama’s little suck dog had a close shave.
[Lippert served as a senior foreign policy advisor to then-Senator Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.[5] He was responsible for briefing Obama on emerging foreign policy issues throughout the campaign.[6] He helped prepare Obama on foreign policy for the presidential debates.[7] Lippert later served as deputy director for foreign policy for the ObamaBiden Transition Project.[5]
Throughout his time in the Senate and during the presidential campaign, Lippert was noted for having a close relationship with then Senator Obama.[4] He is credited for helping Obama develop his views on defense and foreign policy, particularly his support for a withdrawal of American troops from Iraq, which was completed under President Obama in December 2011 as well as Obama’s emphasis on transnational security issues, such as genocide and weapons of mass destruction.[3]]
Wiki.
My husband was an air force officer in the late 90’s in San Antonio when a fellow pediatrician and colleague was murdered in South Korea in broad daylight by a local armed with a sword. It was horrible. The evil and the insane are all over the globe.
.
The military is infested with these pukes it seems. What SEAL would want to work for Obama but a pink tie wearing one?
Apparently there aren't any fancy restaurants in Seoul.
Not a SEAL. Navy intelligence officer, congressional aide.
Where was this mans security detail?
Corsi: “I have evidence. I have emails. Sean this is the first time anybody knows this. I’ve got emails from Obama’s Senate office to Riola Odinga, identifying Mark Lippert, who is one of Obama’s top aides, as the contact. Obama says, for our security, we’ll just communicate through Mark Lippert. . . . “

Newsbusters the Obama/Lippart/Raila Odinga relationship as well.

The attack comes amid growing anti-U.S. protests here over comments made last week by State Department official Wendy Sherman.
Sherman, undersecretary of state for political affairs, angered many South Koreans with comments that seemed to tell the country to give up hardline nationalist policies toward North Korea and to seek closer ties with its neighbor.
The South Korean government issued a formal diplomatic protest to the State Department over the remarks, sources said.
Nationalist feelings can still be exploited, and its not hard for a political leader anywhere to earn cheap applause by vilifying a former enemy, Sherman said Friday in a speech at the Carnegie Endowment, a think tank.
But such provocations produce paralysis, not progress, she said. To move ahead, we have to see beyond what was to envision what might be. And in thinking about the possibilities, we dont have to look far for a cautionary tale of a country that has allowed itself to be trapped by its own history.
The comments were interpreted by critics here as criticism of South Korean President Park Geun-hyes hardline stance against North Korea.
