As I’ve read only the 62grain steel tipped (Green tip) ammo is under fire. Not the 55grain ball round.
I don’t like it but this being called the “End of the AR15” is unwarranted.

I bought 200 rnds 5.56 and 200 rnds of 223 yesterday to add to my inventory. My AR 180 is designed for the 5.56 but will also shoot the 223 with no problem. I will keep the 223 rnds in reserve (if not needed) as a trade item.

From what I understand, this is the armor piercing ammo that they are going after. Why would everyday patriots need something that powerful, you ask?
Don’t you suppose that ISIS or any rogue government, including the United States Military under the leadership of a communist dictator, will come after us wearing armor? And if a ragtag band of Muslim “extremists” can’t afford it, Obama the Benevolent will surely supply it. Our firepower has to be able to match the worst of the worst or we might as well be fighting for our very existence with nothing more than sticks and stones. The regime knows this. Haven’t checked myself but my Facebook feed locals are reporting Sportsman’s Warehouse is sold out of ALL .223 and 5.56 ammo.
