As promised, President Obama is using executive actions to impose gun control on the nation, targeting the top-selling rifle in the country, the AR-15 style semi-automatic, with a ban on one of the most-used AR bullets by sportsmen and target shooters.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives this month revealed that it is proposing to put the ban on 5.56mm ammo on a fast track, immediately driving up the price of the bullets and prompting retailers, including the huge outdoors company Cabela’s, to urge sportsmen to urge Congress to stop the president.

I know you're parroting them and making fun, but that stuff makes my blood boil. They are PURPOSELY LYING and impugning our motives. This crap is going to lead to a civil war!
According to the NRA article this ban would reach far beyond the intended green tipped armor piercing bullets by reinterpreting the regulations to include any non-lead centerfire bullet that can be interpreted to have the capability of penetrating some form of armored vest. The NRA article concludes this reinterpretation would encompass most of the centerfire non-lead ammunition, while another action would ban the lead ammunition.

By the way, you are no competent judge, of what I do or do not need in bullets. Same arguement from Cuomo, *you dont need more than 7 bullets in a magazine to hunt* The school bus was blown up by a person.

I don’t think that is the point. I think they are pushing a narrative. The narrative isn’t “ban all guns” but “unrestricted gun rights is dangerous and the people who support it are crazy people who deserve ridicule”. If they can get that narrative to spin up, they can use it to bully the center into silence while they pass “common sense” gun laws. If you are a “moderate”, you don’t want to be associated with the “nuts” who become the subject of derision on the popular shows.
This has been a strategy of the Left on Global Warming, Same Sex Marriage, Obama, etc.
the only thing that is ever going to stop this BS is to hold the responsible individuals CRIMINALLY liable. As it is, they do whatever the hell they want and the citizenry has to spend millions on lawyers.. for BOTH sides since we fund the a-holes. there is no incentive to tread lightly, all they do is "resign" with a full pension and offer of a higher paying job somewhere else when they get busted. they are paid scapegoats and lose nothing when they pull this sh$#@%.
The facts are M855 is the only one being reclassified. Everything else is just conjecture.

I’m talking about calibers not guns. Point being if the .223 ammo is regulated, regardless of the platform, it would be reasonable to expect “them” to come after everything bigger.
You have not been paying attention to California, which is where they often try new stuff out. CA has a partial and probably soon to be total ban on lead cored bullets on an environmental basis. The plan appears to be:
1. Ban steel-core ammo as ‘armor piercing.’
2. Ban lead core ammo as ‘an environmental pollitant.’
3. ‘You can have your AR-15s, but it will bankrupt you to shoot them’ because the only option left is bismuth and that’s expensive.
Of course they are doing that.
I saw someone shoot one of these bullets and it went back in time and killed a Pharaoh. Why would anyone need a time traveling Pharaoh killing bullet?
It sounds absurd but that’s the hook. If you can get people to accept your premise, you can lead them by the nose to your conclusion.
It’s like this conversation I had with someone:
Them: Why do you need an assault weapon? They are solely made to kill lots of people.(faulty premise)
Me: The police have them. Do they need to kill lots of us?
If I can get you to agree with me that citizens don’t need a specific type of bullet that can pierce a vest, I can get you to ban all bullets that I can prove will pierce a vest?

But right NOW, it’s 62 grain.
Next, it’ll be 55 grain.
Then the 77gr if you can find it.
Then it’ll be 7.62 NATO, the 7.62x63 (.30-06), and so on and so on.
He has a little less than two years to do as much damage as he can. And he means to do it.
