Everyone wants to know whether Jeb Bush can survive his support for Common Core and comprehensive immigration reform in today's Republican Party.
One deal-breaker that might surprise people, though: His opposition to gay marriage.
NBC News and Marist College are out with a batch of new 2016 primary polls. And as you might expect, Common Core, immigration reform, belief in man-made climate change and support for raising taxes on the wealthy are among those with the potential to alienate lots of conservatives.
But according to the polls, so does opposition to gay marriage--an issue on which Bush agrees with basically every other candidate.
The polls, in fact, show that about half of likely GOP caucus and primary voters in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina said they find opposition to gay marriage either "mostly" or "totally" unacceptable in a candidate....

I will NEVER vote for Jeb regardless.
But let me tell the GOP this. Other idiotic voters will trudge to the polls to support your dumbass liberal candidates in spite of their treachery. Social conservatives will not. We don’t compromise. Buy into this travesty, YOU WILL NEVER WIN ANOTHER DAMN ELECTION EVER. the numbers are not there.
To: Dalek
I wonder what Gods poll shows.
Wait, I already know!
The great I Am is 100% anti homersexual marriage.
To: trisham
Yes, but my point is that it can’t be a marriage without a man and woman, that is a fundamental part of the definition of marriage. It is why two men and two women will never be a marriage, these two combos by their nature are not in the definition of marriage.

"And I dont think Gay marriage support is as solid as the left would like people to believe.."
Neither do I. There is a HUGE and relentless media barrage to marginalize and demonize those who oppose gay marriage, so a lot of people are bullied into saying they support it for fear of being labeled "bigots" no different from old-time racists. But, deep down, I'd SAY PROBABLY 30-40% OF PEOPLE WHO SAY THEY SUPPORT IT REALLY DON'T, THEY THINK IT'S A GOOFY IDEA, BUT ARE JUST AFRAID TO SAY SO.

In the age of Obama people support it, in a pro-life, pro-marriage Administration, that nonetheless supports gays having the same rights in contract law, taxes..their opinions will switch back..

That math doesn’t make any sense. This chart says that 45% of republican voters are at least somewhat in favor of gay marriage. If we take your numbers and say even 53% of the total population is, then to get an average of 53% with republicans at 45%, we would need democrats to be at 61%, which certainly seems more than plausible (if we assume the population is split evenly by party for simplicity).
I don’t know where you got the idea that a chart showing 45% equates to “more than half”.
