(CNN)A 46-year-old man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of three Muslim students in an apartment near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus.
Police haven't said what may have compelled the accused, Craig Stephen Hicks, to allegedly carry out the attack Tuesday evening. He turned himself into police later in the night.
But given the victims' religion and comments the alleged shooter apparently left on a Facebook page, many social media users wondered what role, if any, the victims' faith played.
The victims were Muslims: Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23; Yusor Mohammad, 21; and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19.

Everything I’ve been able to find is short on details. Very short. He may have had a perfectly rational reason for killing them. I wonder if it had anything to do with them funding Syrian “refugees.”
Razan is a female. Both the first guy and the woman on are FB.
Do we ever hear Christian student shot by leftist maniac in Aurora theater or something?
It’s a start. Hopefully they were “student leaders”.
This won’t help.
Would CNN report if they were beheaded? Or if they instead were not victims, but raped a girl?
Sure it matters they were killed, but it matters little they were Muslim.
It would be interesting to know who he was addressing with that comment.
Mohammedans and black people killing other Mohammedans and other black people (as well as killing white people) is not news.
But white people killing Mohammedans and black people is always news!
(My wife is addicted to prime time police dramas. I keep telling her that about 0.001% of US homicides fit the typical plot -- "Supermodel is found shot and murdered next to penthouse swimming pool in New York City. Millionaire investment banker is the prime suspect." Nevertheless, she remains addicted.)
I was thinking the same thing. People are angry. Kayla Mueller's death at the hands of these beasts may have angered more than one who feels frustrated that our leader(s) seem not to be angered one whit.
In his interrogation, I bet her name comes up.
What cripplecreek said. CNN lies. The rest of the media misleads. From the DailyMail:
> Describes himself as a supporter of Atheists for Equality on his Facebook page, which includes a number of anti-religion posts.

Daily Mail appears to be much more informative that the US rags. (no pun intended). Even with all the large photos the pages load fast. I hate the US news sites because when you land on them then all fire up a video automatically without clicking a link.
I don’t recall hearing any stories about the religion of other murder victims.
If true, watch the story die a quick death.
I haven’t seen anything about it on the news this morning.
Are you nuts?
He could just as easily shot up a synagogue or church as a mosque.
This is the sort of thing the Weather Underground was trying to spawn over race.
CNN is working to establish a Tea Party link at this very moment.
So he is a leftist atheist hater.
What else is new?
