The Brian Williams scandal has burst onto the public square through a feat of Internet accountability. After NBC Nightly News last week posted to Facebook a clip of the anchor reminiscing about having embedded with the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, some Facebookers took issue with the particulars. Whereas Williams claimed that he was riding in a helicopter that was forced down after being hit by an RPG, others had a different recollection. Sorry dude, I dont remember you being on my aircraft. I do remember you walking up about an hour after we had landed to ask me what had happened, wrote Lance Reynolds in a Facebook comment responding to the Williams segment.
In issuing an on-air apology for his mistake in misremembering the circumstances of the March 2003 episode, Williams credited some brave men and women in the air crews who were also in that desert for debunking his set of facts. I want to apologize. I said I was traveling in an aircraft that was hit by RPG fire. I was instead in a following aircraft, he said on Wednesday nights NBC Nightly News.
Why did it take pushback from some brave men and women in the air crews, however? Do these folks have to fight our wars and fact-check NBC News?

Oh...what's that about a typewriter??
May they sink in the Potomac.
NBC News ratings were pretty much in the toilet anyway. This will be a good opportunity for them to clean ouse and bring in the next hot liberal journalist du jour.
” Do these folks have to fight our wars and fact-check NBC News?”
Apparently so.
Baron Munchausen Williams can retire and tell the grandkids how he single-handedly killed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi...
If WashPost had REALLY been honest, and REALLY been interested in doing their investigative jobs, they would have questioned Brian Williams about it years ago. Did they do that?
No.
WashPost is still one of Obama’s buddies, still not to be trusted.
The guy on the right has some kind of long stain down the inside of his pant leg and that guy on the far left is really creepy especially when his Adam's Apple jumps around when he gets excited!
1. Protect Obama and the administration at all costs.
2. Protect the liberal/progressive agenda.
3. Twist every story to put conservatives in a bad light.
NBC has just been “Rathered”
Most conservatives already knew NBC was full of it. It might sting a bit when their loyal viewers start to wake up.
I am thinking Chuck Todd? But then who will do the “meet the press” propaganda show each Sunday?
Wemple was all over the UVA fake rape story and was one of the people instrumental in destroying it. He wasn’t the first but he did excellent work.
Cue the John Williams music.
It vaguely reminds me of the Soviet Union -- Ivan is paid to dig a hole, and Boris is paid to fill it in. All Power to the Workers!
Just further proof that the “mainstream” press has no problem trafficking in lies to sell a false narrative or report.
Sharpton is standing by...
I suppose Brian Williams will be treated differently than Janet was, because (unlike her) he's...
You know.
when has NBC NOT been a lying propaganda outlet?
exploding GM truck anyone?
fraudulent editing Zimmerman’s 911 call?
claiming Remington 870s go bang by themselves?
Those are just the obvious ones. Then there is the daily lies, omissions, and propaganda.
Our governance is accomplished by two entities elected politicians and media people. (How the latter came to be accepted as leaders Lord knows!) It is becoming increasingly apparent that both classes are bankrupt degenerates. Every Old Testament biblical vice is manifest: Lies, lust, greed etc.etc.
