Jeb Bush made a series of astonishing remarks about immigration Wednesday. Actually, his comments were not so much about immigration as they were about illegal aliens.
First he said he wanted to repopulate Detroit with illegal aliens.
It just seems to me that maybe if you open up our doors in a fair way and unleashed the spirit of peoples' hard work, Detroit could become in really short order, one of the great American cities again," Bush said then. "Now it would look different, it wouldn't be Polish...But it would be just as powerful, just as exciting, just as dynamic. And that's what immigration does and to be fearful of this, it just seems bizarre to me.
Now, if we were talking about legal immigration, I would probably agree. But I think you and I both know whom Jeb was talking about "opening the doors" for. Illegal aliens are already roosting in our inner cities in the millions. Jeb simply wants to accelerate the process. But wait, there's more.
He said, during a discussion with Univision, that it was "ridiculous" to think that DREAMers, children brought to the U.S. by their parents illegally, shouldn't have an "accelerated path" to citizenship.
"I've never felt like the sins of the parents should be ascribed to the children, you know," Bush said in 2013. "If your children always have to pay the price for adults decisions they make how fair is that? For people who have no country to go back to which are many of the DREAMers it's ridiculous to think that there shouldn't be some accelerated path to citizenship."

Other comments included that Bush declared that "it's not possible in a free country to completely control the border without us losing our freedoms and liberties."
Unbelievable how these people think!
Oh, and by the way, this is how they plan to push back on “secure the border”
The man sounds like he is on something. His remarks are disjointed.
“Now it would look different, it wouldn’t be Polish”
What an idiot he is. When was the last time one could say Detroit was Polish? Or maybe, it’s a racial put down.
I always thought his daddy and brother were for a united North America, not necessarily for a USA.
I don’t care if Detroit is full of people whose ancestry is Polish or Mexican. What I care about is whether those people entered our country legally. If they are criminals who entered illegally, I don’t want them in my country. If they are criminals, why would anyone think they would build a good city out of the ruins of Detroit. Why would we be better off teaching the world that criminals will be rewarded in the United States while those who try to follow the law will die of old age before they are permitted to come here?
No, thank you. I will support the rule of law. That may or may not include increased legal immigration, but it will certainly include the most aggressive possible enforcement of existing immigration laws. Most important, anyone in our country illegally should (before being deported) be fingerprinted, DNA swabbed, and permanently banned from any path to citizenship or even to legal reentry.
How many times can u jump the shark?
Why would they go to Detroit? There are no jobs or opportunities there anymore.
It all depends on how you control the border. With our present, lawyer dominated, system I am scared he is correct.
If you totally change the approach and cut the current system players out of the loop it is very possible. IMHO the first step in this approach forces all of the people and organizations that support this criminal activity, that is what crossing the border without approval really is, to be charged as unindicted co-conspirators (that is what they really are). As such they are liable for legal action to recover costs and damages.
Also IMHO the reason that we have so many lawyers and advocates involved is because that is where the money (our tax dollars) is and there is absolutely no risk to them. Free a multiple murder and he kills again - this means more money for the lawyers and advocates under the current system. But, what would happen if it means less money to those same people?
It sounds as if he’s trying to connect with an audience that he has only a vague, theoretical understanding of, and no real common ground with.
Oh wait- he is.
No. Next, please?
Weasel words. Fractured fairytale. Off the cogent map. No surprises.
I listened objectively to Jeb speaking in Detroit (it was carried on C-Span radio). He was not just an open borders liberal but a fake. His handlers must have told him to act tough so when he said America was the country with the greatest opportunity (or something like that), he said “and if you disagree with me, we’ll take it outside”. And that was the second time he used the “take it outside” quip.
Fathead intimates that these snakes who crawl across our borders spreading epidemics can somehow rekindle Detroit to greatness.
Perhaps during his rallies he can obtain the services of his step-brother, Billy Goat Clinton, to rev up the votes; or, Barry Obama could jaunt up the steps to the platform and be of great help.
I swear this guy is a Democrat plant to utterly destroy the GOP. It will probably work. The defeat he will hand the Republican party will go down in the record books.
In Detroit he was talking to some sort of Chamber of Commerce. He connected perfectly well, they asked all softball questions and they they applauded his lame answers.
Idiot kids have the vote and repeatedly endorse the least qualified, albeit iconoclastic candidates. O'Dummy, Hitlery, et al.
Finally, elections are stolen via voter fraud and conservatives have done little about it.
If you take a sapling and bend it, and keep it bent, it'll grow like that. When it becomes a tree it's impossible to straighten out. America is that tree. What's the use?
He is speaking clearly. And if he wins the nomination, watch plenty of semi informed republicans vote for him.
Most of these guys will tell you exactly what they are about. Problem is, most voters don’t listen or don’t care.
