Promising to help Americas middle class, President Barack Obama on Monday sent Congress a record $4 trillion budget that would hammer corporate profits overseas and raise taxes on the wealthy while boosting tax credits for families and the working poor.
Obamas budget also would steer hundreds of billions of dollars to the nations crumbling infrastructure of roads and bridges, help provide two years of free community college and reverse the across-the-board, automatic budget cuts that have slammed the Pentagon and nearly every government department.
In the face of certain opposition from Republicans, an optimistic Obama hailed a breakthrough year for America of new jobs, lower unemployment and shrinking deficits after the great recession of 2008, and he called for moving past years of mindless austerity.

I don’t need help from the feds. They are the problem and not the solution.

destroy more jobs, sink the middle classIt does seem that Obama is on a mission to define downward the middle class, which makes it more difficult for those in the middle class to bridge the gap to the economic and social upper-tiers of society.

Wait a minute, wasn't the Stimulus Package supposed to fix "the nations crumbling infrastructure of roads and bridges".
After all that money, and all the taxes we pay in gas tax and federal taxes, why are they still crumbling?
Same excuse over and over.
Tax the rich, give to the poor. They won't stop until "the rich" have less disposable income than "the poor".
Help the middle class? Bah! By socialist standards, the middle class counts as "rich" but they don't have the power to cut deals like the super rich democrat donors do.

Tax the rich, help middle class Sure, if by "rich", you mean "all but the poor."
And by "help" the middle class, you mean eliminate their jobs and jack up their health care and other costs.

I guess I missed the “mindless austerity” of trillion dollar deficits, 99 week unemployment benefits, expanding food stamps, expanding Medicaid, free cell phones and the trillion dollar stimulus package.
I used to fear the coming confrontation, but now I look forward to it.

Wonder why this simpleton hasn’t figured out that higher taxes high up on the ladder are always paid by those on the bottom rung(or under the ladder)? Only way this guy could get voted in was by those even dumber. I’m really curious as to how many of those were actual living voters.
