Stimulus: Obama says jobs from the Keystone project aren't permanent and it's just one pipeline that will move foreign oil to foreign markets. But fixing the bridge he once used as a prop didn't create permanent jobs either.
'Let's set our sights above a single pipeline," the leader of the party of infrastructure told Congress in the State of the Union. But this Congress has 80 more Republicans than when he took office, and on Thursday the Senate rejected his admonition by a 62-36 vote.
Eight Democrats crossed the aisle after a series of amendment votes, a process that had vanished under former Majority Leader Harry Reid. While not approved with a veto-proof majority, the Keystone bill, after House approval, will head to Obama's desk, where stopping the pipeline will finally put the onus on him and him alone.

This is critical. He can’t say he’s still thinking about it. And he can’t vote “present”.
He is forced to show his allegiances for the world to see.
Nation wide REVOLT is sooo past needed.. it has become MANDATORY...
That would incentivize refining it domestically and not exporting it. It also would answer the long term jobs question.
Think like a liberal. If it moves, tax it. If it still moves regulate it. If it isn't moving, subsidize it.
But this Congress has 80 more Republicans than when he took office.
The “peasants” have revolted but the republican leaders are being paid off not to act as evidence they avoid actually doing anything to the multiple felonies obama and the democrats are committing.
Big difference between the Keystone XL and Obama’s public works projects: Keystone doesn’t involve any taxpayer money.
Good idea. Two things I would add. One, the oil destined for foreign markets would go on American flag ships.
Second, somewhere in the Bill I would insert the words “shovel ready”.
Sure, but he's thinking like a Chicagoan.
If it moves, offer it "protection." If it still moves, kill it. If it isn't moving, show it to the next one as a warning.

Thanks raptor22.
Yes, lets kill the manufacturing industry and increase the trade deficit. Don’t you see that, even if it is true that the Keystone oil is destined to be MANUFACTURED into gasoline in United States refineries, creating great MANUFACTURING jobs, something every politician says they would like to see more of, and the finished product is then EXPORTED to another country, decreasing our trade deficit, which is another thing people say they would like to see more of in this country, increased EXPORTS. Lets make stuff and sell it to other countries. What’s wrong with that?

Bury this idiot with paper and when he vetoes each piece of legislation have a press conference to beat him over the head with it.
It still will. The pipeline isn't going to those markets.
The rail lines run predominantly east and west out here.
Those same rail lines have hauled everything from Anhydrous Ammonia to HF to explosives, and nobody whined then.
Just keep the trains on the rails and don't run them into each other.

Yes, it does. They just havent yet figured out where to take it from and how to funnel it to Berkshire.
