Meet the 2016 GOP Candidates for President — and Their Positions on Immigration
America's Voice ^

Posted on 01/25/2015 2:58:07 PM PST by ObamahatesPACoal

This weekend, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) is gathering a majority of the 2016 GOP presidential hopefuls at the Iowa Freedom Summit, where the likes of Chris Christie, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, and many more will come to kiss King’s ring and attempt to build up a base in Iowa for their upcoming campaigns.

(SNIP)

Carson does advise that if immigrants “are wise, they will arrange with their employer before they leave to immediately offer them a legal job as soon as their application is received” — another indication that he has no idea how long backlogs can take or what families/employers are supposed to do in the meantime.

(SNIP)

Perhaps that’s why Huckabee, during his 2008 run, found it necessary to plagiarize immigration positions from none other than Mark Krikorian of the Center for Immigration Studies, who published his proposal in 2005.

(SNIP)

As Governor, Perry vetoed a driver’s license bill for immigrants and pushed an SB 1070-style law in Arizona. Perry initially opposed SB 1070 — but then supported a similar bill in Texas which would’ve cracked down on “sanctuary cities” and forced local law enforcement to question people about their immigration status.

(SNIP)

More recently, Santorum has said that he (like Romney) would veto the Dream Act and dismissed concerns that deportations are difficult for families. As he told Fox News:

I don’t like to break up families, but you know the family can go back. We’re not sending them to Siberia. We’re not sending them to any kind of, you know, difficult country. They’re going to Mexico, which is a great country, a nice country. And they can go back like every other Mexican that wants to come to America and come here.

(SNIP)

On other immigration positions, Walker has been all over the place.

They are all over the place or so convoluted (Santorum) because they are trying to be all things to all people. They don’t want to commit to one aspect and then have to retract it when they face another group.

Jeb Bush in a related thread was on one of the Sunday morning talkies. He supposed relied on the same ole tired canard: Secure the border first. The problem is, they want to stick that feature in a comprehensive package so they can conveniently forget it later or, claim like former HSD Janet Napolitano — ‘it is more secure than it has ever been.’

I trust NOBODY’S words on border issues. Their votes and other actions are what matter to me.

They all say “secure the border first”. I don’t believe any of them until I see it secured and working for several years. When I see border security in place and working, when I see illegals being detained and returned, when I see current immigration law enforced and I see consistent results then I’ll believe our border is secure. Until then I don’t even want to hear about tweaking or changing our immigration laws.

If the powers that be cannot enforce the laws that have already been passed what is to prevent them from ignoring new ones as well. And since we’ve already been burned in that respect we’d have to be fools to fall for it again.

I am thinking there’s a typo in the Website name. Shouldn’t it read Mexico’s Voice?

The comment on Perry is incredibly understated. He is for amnesty and has said so. Factor in his supporting the Texas DREAM Act, characterizing as "heartless" anyone who does not agree with his pro-ILLEGAL alien views, his opposition to a border fence and Governor Mumbles, the same man who also praised Hillary as a "Great Secretary of State", should not get a single vote from any real conservative.

Question: "But just to be clear: if border security is accomplished, you can envision some sort of path to citizenship for people who are here illegally?"

La Raza Rick Perry: "Sure."

I agree but to me a ‘secure border’ also means tracking visa overstayers and visa violators (i.e. people working while on a tourist or student visa). Most of the illegal aliens I’ve known have flown in and out frequently. Like Aunt Zeituni they ‘come and go all the time.’

I posted the interesting bits.
Rand’s position on immigration is known. Perry’s open border stance is know. Be interesting if any of those sanctuary or tuition bills get further with Dan Patrick and Gov Abbott and probably a few more conservatives in the legislature.

I didn’t know Huckabee copied Krikorian and that Santorum stated the obvious that deportation is not like being sent to siberia.

Regarding Ben Carson, the article says:
“Carson spends a lot of time spewing popular Tea Party misconceptions about immigration — that the border is “very porous,” that immigrants have “easy access to health care,” and that people come here for “easy acquisition of public support through welfare programs.”

OK - I live down here in Texas where we spend a gazillion dollars giving illegals free heath care, free public education, incarcerating them in our prisons when they break the law, and spending an additional 1.5 million a week funding our Department of Public Safety on just securing our own state border. Would somebody tell me just what Carson got wrong?

“If voting made a difference, they would not let us do it.” Mark Twain (close)

Wake me up when Soros has decided which GOPe candidate has the least chance against Hillary, the WWII era born hag of Park Ridge.

Let the endless rounds of liberal media sponsored republican turkey-shoot debates begin!

My advice to serious candidates avoid the debates take your message out on the road. Leave Candy Crowley and George Shatsonallofus at home.

Thanks for the realtime report on Perry.

REFERENCE--Subversive Texas Textbooks---distributed nationwide--- vilify conservative groups;

Breitbart Texas | 09/10/2014 | Merrill Hope / FR Posted by Rusty0604

In 2006, uber-liberal "Texas Rising" stated its mission: "developing an emerging generation of social justice-minded, informed and engaged leaders is essential to the long-term health of our communities and the development of progressive public policy in Texas."

...a sneak peak at the preliminary Social Studies textbook found including distortions, omissions and half-truths all passing for accurate high school US history...

And there's this gem: "The radical right consists of groups that sometimes gather under the flag of militant anticommunism. Often known as reactionaries, they denounce most forms of government regulation, including progressive taxation and restrictions and industry.Examples of political groups on the radical right are the John Birch Society, the National States & Rights party, The Christian Crusade, and the Tea Party movement." =============================================

THIRD WORLD INFILTRATION College Board exams changed history answers... revisionist historians developed different answers to the question of what America’s story is about. From their perspective, at the heart of our country’s history—like the history of any other powerful nation—lies the pursuit of empire, of dominion over others. At its core, say the revisionists, America’s history is about our capacity for self-delusion, our endless attempts to justify raw power grabs with pretty fairy-tales about democracy. ....

NOTE WELL: This terrifying Third World revisionism is straight out of Third World textbooks---emphasizing the T/W effort to undermine US ntl security for the coming armed takeover.

The conniving T/W uses an ancient formula going back to Greco-Roman times---where savages, barbarians and thieves overrun a bountiful country lusting after its power and riches.

REFERENCE--- Some 10 years back, Texas schools started used Mexican textbooks for their backward illiterate Spanish-speaking students. Texas textbooks advocated the Mexican perspective including:

<><> anti-white, anti-capitalist anti-USA viewpoints;

<><> Mexican textbooks falsified US history,

<><> proselytized blood-thirsty La Raza savagery;

<><> using teaching as brainwashing;

<><> inculcating violent separatist, latino supremacy idealogy.

Nothing. He has flip flopped since he wrote his book that illegals are doing jobs that Americans won’t do.
