White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said today that President Obama knows how to run small businesses better than small business owners.
Asked what the White House message to small business owners who are concerned Obama's proposed new mandatory paid sick leave policy could hurt their bottom line, Earnest replied, "I think the president would have a different view which is to say that this is good business and I think there are any number of examples I can site for you where businesses have chosen to put in place these policies and it's served to reduce the turnover associated with their employees, but also increase their employees productivity."
In his State of the Union next Tuesday, Obama will call on Congress to pass new legislation mandating that all employers give all employees seven paid sick days a year.
Also on Thursday, Obama also signed a Presidential Memoranda, directing all federal agencies to give federal workers six weeks of paid paternal leave for parents with a new child. Obama's own Council of Economic Advisers estimates that this policy will cost taxpayers at least $250 million in just the first year .
Obama also will call on Congress to pass similar legislation forcing all American companies to offer the same six weeks of paid paternal leave, although the White House did not say how much money this would cost the nation's employers.
Obama's humble view of his own skills at running other people's businesses is perfectly in line with his assessment of his political skills. Obama famously told his speechwriter Patrick Gaspard in 2008, "I think that Im a better speechwriter than my speechwriters. I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And Ill tell you right now that Im gonna think Im a better political director than my political director."
President Jug Ears probably would be good at running a small business— into the ground!!

Incredible, I haven’t seen a list like that before, over 50% of those on the list went belly up.
I ran my bidness for 25 years there quota boy.
Gubmint sure as hell wasn’t a partner though they sure had their hand in my wallet
A company of 1,000 employees just added 16,000 man hours...(based on a 40 hour sick leave policy)
All employees ? Really ?
Full time, part time, exempt, non-exempt,
Small business owner with 15 employees who give three annual sick leave just went belly up...or let go of three employees
I thought a work week was 5 days not 7.
So this means an employer would have to pay an employee for days that they would not be at work to begin with.
That list is over two years out of date and just includes the information the administration hasn't been able to cover up.
Your point is valid. However, as of today it’s now legal to travel to Cuba and buy stuff with your credit card. I don’t know why they stipulated that. Could it be because the official boycott mentions cash since credit cards weren’t around back then? If not, he just did something he needs congress’ approval on.
Small business owners are smart enough to know running a freight distributor company teaches you nothing about how to run a restaurant.
I recommend one from the pegboard though not the podium.
LOL! The tool on the podium is polished but useless for any legitimate job.
"You didn't make this whisk broom!"
Time for states to issue persona non grata decrees against President Buckwheat.
The term persona non grata (Latin, plural: personae non gratae), literally meaning “an unwelcome person...”

Every time these people open their mouths I find a new capacity for contempt. I despise Obama. Absolutely despise him.
Yep, going for paid leaves now, next, one week paid vacation for everyone, then everyone gets free cable and Internet, then everyone gets 4 years of free college, then a free car to everyone, then a free house to everyone...
Their was an article posted to LinkedIn earlier this week by Valerie Jarrett. She’d just created the account, received “Influencer” status with the ability to post content to all of LinkedIn and an editor’s pick for her propaganda piece on “Obama wants to say everyone earns sick time as they work”.
The gist would be earning about one hour of sick time for every 20-ish hours worked, so people get at least seven paid sick days per year no matter if part time or full time. Only employers with less than fifteen people would be exempt.
The response on LinkedIn was overwhelmingly negative, from joking that this guarantees more automation to destroying the recovery to “I like the site because it isn’t political”.
Thanks...Good to hear that the majority are critical of her and her agenda.
