The House will quickly begin considering broader immigration legislation in weeks ahead even as Republicans are likely to remain mired in conflict with President Obama over a far-reaching executive action that extended amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, Speaker John Boehner announced to members at a closed-door meeting this morning.
Were going to get an immigration bill moving pretty quickly, one GOP lawmaker told Breitbart News.
Rep. Aaron Schock (R-IL) said the outlines of the specific legislation that will be considered are still unclear, but he said he expects in time that Boehner will bring bills addressing border security, visa reform, aliens brought to the U.S. illegally as children and what do you do with the 12 million who are here illegally.
Im not sure that theres a bill. Hes been pretty adamant that our immigration solution be a step-by-step approach. I think there will be a border security bill but I dont think well take what the last Congress did wholesale, I think this Congress will work its will, Schock said.
Certainly, you have to do visas because 40 percent of those living here illegally came on a legal visa and have overstayed their visa, so we need an improved visa enforcement program. And then, you gotta deal with the kids, and then you gotta answer the question what do you do with the 12 million who are here illegally. So I think those step-by-step bills are what he outlined right before the last election that was the goal for the House. And I think now that we have a Senate that will work with us, thats the plan, Schock said.
A GOP aide said Boehner only spoke in conference about moving forward on border security legislation, not other topics of immigration reform...

The push, previously suggested by House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul to reporters but formally announced by Boehner to lawmakers for the first time this morning, marks a contrast with Boehners warnings to Obama about the impact a broad executive action would have on chances for legislative action on the issue in the 114th Congress.
The only way to secure the border is to place landmines.
We knew this was coming, Boehner is going to back amnesty for millions a step at a time.
More laws aren't going to do a damn thing to improve the situation - especially under Boehner and McConnell's 'leadership'. They're more liable to send an amnesty bill to Obama than anything else.
That and letting in only people who can help America become less liberal.
Looks like my lifelong registration as a Republican is coming to an end very soon.
What does Boehner want to do, kidnap foreigners from their homes and then bring them here to vote DemocRAT?
” They’re more liable to send an amnesty bill to Obama than anything else. “
They will, sooner or later.
Boner is a despicable twit.
Amnesty Bill?
WTF?
Its a demographic warfare bill.
Shame on Boehner. He thinks he can attract minority votes for 2016, what a laugh! He is selling the country down the tubes without securing the border.Obama already has what he wants: thousands of undeported illegal alien entries into the USA daily.Obama already has achieved his goal, unless the GOP stops it.
SECURE THE BORDER AND ENFORCE THE IMMIGRATION LAWS.......that’s all the Bill needs to say. And the Republicans, in committee, had better not water it down! Period!
Why does “Enforce The Law” need to be BROAD?
The illegal lobby likes to trot out examples of every illegal alien of accomplishment. But they wouldn't hear of deporting their negative counterpart in return for a green card.
“the 12 million who are here illegally”
I don’t think that figure is even close.
They have been citing it for years, at least since 2006 to my recollection. They claimed only 3 million in 1986.
Americans would be shocked at the real figure.
Landmines? We already do better than that in SW Arizona. That’s where the Goldwater Bombing Range is and I’
ve never heard that we have a wetback problem there. The next logical step would be to make the entire border a bombing range.
This is the opposite of the will of the people.
No reform is needed. If they just enforced the current laws, and got rid of all the unconstitutional ones, the problem would fix itself. But who am I kidding...?
