First Senate Race Ratings Revealed
Roll Call ^ | Jan. 9, 2015 | Nathan L. Gonzales

Posted on 01/12/2015 1:30:36 PM PST by george76

Democratic vulnerabilities appear to be limited to just two states. Former Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Michael Bennet’s re-election in Colorado is rated as Leans Democratic. His home-state colleague, Democrat Mark Udall, was defeated in November. And Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid can expect a tough race in Nevada if he seeks re-election. His race is also rated Leans Democratic, as Republicans search for a challenger.

...

Four of the nine seats Democrats lost in 2014 were listed as Tossups nearly two years before the election. In January 2013, Alaska, Montana and North Carolina were rated as Leans Democratic, and Democrats lost the trio last November.

Iowa was the one race Democrats lost that was listed as safe for them in the off-year. But that was because Sen. Tom Harkin decided not to seek re-election. Retirements can fundamentally change a race and pull a state onto the competitive playing field.

That’s why GOP strategists will spend the first months of this cycle trying to avoid retirements. If Arizona Sen. John McCain and Iowa Sen. Charles E. Grassley opt for retirement, it will likely vault their seats into a Tossup status. If they seek re-election, Democrats probably won’t mount much of a challenge. (That being said, Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer’s retirement does not change the initial partisan outlook of the California Senate race).

I finally figured it out, Levin must be a time traveler. I mean it's obvious he was close personal friend with James Madison, yet he's clearly not over 200 years old.

"When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.".

I've suspected time travel for a while.

It also explains how the eeeeeeeeeeeevil 17th amendment is directly responsible for the 16th amendment. Obviously, the eeeeeeeeeeeeeevil elected U.S. Senators went back in time and forced their state legislature appointed counterparts to pass the 16th amendment. There's no way such a group of wise elder statemen would do so otherwise, since they represented state interests and opposed any and all blanket federal control.

New York Times film critic A.O. Scott has indicted the film as political propaganda: "The politics of the Iraq war are entirely absent, which is a political statement in its own right," he declared

The Oscar phaggots clearly agreed.

Not only that, the 17th Amendment must be responsible for the approval of the 17th Amendment. No way that 2/3 of Senators elected by those sober, patriotic state legislatures would have voted for the 17th Amendment—that kind of irresponsible, Constitution-destroying behavior only could have been approved by the corrupt Senators elected by the voters. Moreover, there is no way that those infallible state legislatures from 3/4 of the states would have ratified that suicidal 17th Amendment—surely the popularly elected Senators that went back in time to approve the 17th Amendment (the paradox of how they could have been elected in the first place is understood only by the Great Levin himself and it is futile to try to understand it) must have obtained ratification by state convention by rigging the convention vote, something that, thankfully, could never occur if there were state conventions nowadays, since the Holy Spirit created by the love between James Madison (God the Father of the Constitution) and the Great Levin (his only begotten son) would protect the People and the Constitution.

Hopefully they don’t announce it until there is a deal. Dave McGinnis.

What a pile of dung this article is. After they lost big only a couple months ago, its “Obama has rebounded and the democrats are on their way to winning”. There is no evidence to support that, and there is no evidence that this is a certainty on 2016. The GOP has a mandate handed to them only a few months ago.

RE : “ What's interesting is the Levinities constantly argue that the founding fathers were infallible deities who created the PERFECT constitution as written down in 1789, so ANY attempt by later Americans to alter their original text will “destroy our Republic”.
Yet then argue the exact opposite point if LEVIN himself wants to amend the Constitution in modern times. Levin is also an infallible deity who knows the answer to everything, so not only CAN we amend the Constitution the way he wants (and in ways the founding fathers NEVER dreamed of!), we MUST do so in order to “save our Republic”.”

He is saying that since neither party, congress or POTUS or SCOTUSs, will follow the constitution faithfully (as interpreted by him) then we must add amendments to the constitution that they wont follow either.

Just like if Obama wont enforce some laws then we need to pass new laws that he wont enforce either.

Mark is one smart cookie.

It’s done! Best head coaching hire of the offseason, hands down.

I propose, in honor of Italian heritage, we refer to John Fox by his Italian surname, Volpe (fox in Italian).

We could go 100% Italian and call him Giovanni Volpe, but that might be a touch much.

Volpe. Orso. Baffi.

Imagine, Manning getting injured directly leads to this bit of good fortune for the Bears. We could have ended up with Doug Marrone.

What’s with the Italian? You sandbagging SOB!!! INPRESSIVE!

Mike (yes, the father) Shanahan’s supposedly going to be the OC. That means CHI’s keeping Dirty Slutler.

Doug Marrone done screwed himself job-wise. Although he’s got $4M coming to ease the pain with.

Volpe is such a better hire than him (”marrone” = “brown” in Italian).

” (”marrone” = “brown” in Italian).”

There you go...

Word was Mike Shanahan was interested in the being the Bears HC (or ANY team’s HC), the interest was not returned. I haven’t heard anything about him being Bears OC (word was the son could be but it doesn’t seem likely) Latest rumors having him up for the Niners OC Job.

With that contract, extremely difficult to get rid of Suckler. Fox took Jake Delhomme to a SB and won a playoff game with Tim Tebow so he has a good a chance as anyone to get something out of Slutter. Slutter might be hopelessly uncoachable though.

Yes, I think I had the wrong Shanahan ID’d. Whatever. Let’s celebrate CHI landing an actual NFL coach.

I’m pinging DJ because...look who’s back: John Volpe!

John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe! John Volpe!
