For The First Time Ever, A Tiffany’s Ad Features A Gay Couple

By Peter Holley January 10

As far as Tiffany & Co. ads go, it’s standard fare: a chic, exceptionally attractive couple sharing a romantic moment that is captured in a beautiful black and white photograph.

This time around, the only difference is that said couple is composed of two men, making them the first gay couple ever featured in the luxury jeweler’s engagement campaign, according to Elle. The future husbands, who can be seen sharing a loving moment on the stoop of a brownstone, are not models, but a real-life New York couple, according to Elle.

“Will you promise to never stop completing my sentences or singing off-key, which I’m afraid you do often?” the accompanying text says. “And will you let today be the first sentence of one long story that never, ever ends?”

WHO writes this stuff? I think I just threw up in my mouth.

“The reason that the left is able and willing to show up for all their “events” is that most of them are unemployed. Conservatives are always busy working to support all the leftists in their deadbeat lifestyles.”

Right, nobody but conservatives have jobs lol.

For whatever reason they show up and they keep showing up so maybe it’s just how they prioritize their issues.

I really don’t think that’s all of the story though.

I think conservatives are too fragmented even among other conservative groups.
The liberals make common cause with other liberal groups even if they disagree with a lot of what the other groups stand for.

If Revolution 2 or CW2 should ever break out probably 75% of the conservatives would condemn it as being illegal or of being fueled by some group that they find personally unsavory.

Hell conservatives can’t get an acceptable presidential candidate thru a primary or even agree on what conservatism is lol.

You can’t boycott something you were never going to buy anyway.

That’s a shame - mainly because I would never shop there so a boycott won’t matter.

It is now a game with us when watching commercials. Can you spot the homosexual couple. Most ads are subtle. The homosexuals are either in the back ground or in a situation that the two men may not be gay but instead just two normal males doing something together (like picking out furniture, wink)

We live in interesting times. I am at the age now that my years are really numbered. The full impact of all this social changes will not be felt until after I am gone, it is the young people today that will in the end pay the price.

The young may blames us “old farts” for the mess they have to clean up, but the truth is, most “old farts” are conservative and opposed most of these societal changes, it is the young who keep voting for liberal politicians, and it is the liberals that are forcing these changes on society either by legislation or the courts.

It is impossible to predict the future, but it is easy to predict the fact that nothing continues in a straight line. The pendulum has swung to the left but like all pendulums, it can only swing so far before it swings the other way.

I believe in the “black swan” theory of history. Things continue going one way until something unexpected happens to change it.

The left are not as smart as they think. Over the years the creation of “political correctness”, cries of racism, sexism, homophobic and so on have been used to demonize their opposition. They have effectively censored all opposition. They think this is a good thing, but it is no more a good thing then disabling the safety valve on a pressure cooker. The pressure continues to build and without the safety valve to relive that pressure, at some point there will be an explosion.

Pressure is building in this nation, the elite politicians (from both parties) are not listening to the people. In the last election it was clear that the people want this administration blocked and for many of their programs discontinued, but the Republican leadership is acting like they are junior members of the Democrat party. Ignoring those that put them in office. In effect shutting off the last real safety valve our nation. Our votes no longer matter, the elite will do what ever it is they want to do.

I can not predict what it is that will be considered the last straw, but can predict something, somewhere, will happen and the people will decide enough is enough. there will be a societal earthquake, the result will not be pretty.

The gains made by the left may very well be wiped out virtually overnight.

All the special “victims” the left used like a club to bash and direct us towards utopia will find that they have lost all sympathy from a majority of citizens, and with the lost of that sympathy will be the loss of a lot of the benefits those special “victims” enjoy today.

Let the companies kill their own reputations. Any ad campaign aimed at 2 % of the population while alienating at least 60 % of their customer base should be a winner.../s

The 60% that are alienated are not their customer's anyway. They want the 2% because that 2% has more money than the 60% combined. That's the way it works. High end type business don't want the "great unwashed" as customers. So there is no downside for Tiffany here.

Then they might as well change their company to a more suitable LGBT name like Tiffany Renee Jewelers which sounds more transgender.../s

we conservatives aren’t sufficiently motivated and energized to take us out of our comfort zone and do something en mass that would stem the tide.

Conservatives, for the most part, aren't even willing to go into professions where we could potentially influence the culture. We just sit back and make fun of those professions while patting ourselves on the back for "having a real job" or " running my own business".

You’ve got it backwards, I’m afraid. Tiffany’s and their ilk aren’t alienating the majority, they’re pandering to it, since the majority of Americans are in favor of gay marriage. Even in red states it’s 50/50 at best. That’s why we’re seeing all these companies now join the bandwagon.

The more we keep ignoring that fact, the more we keep pretending this is about some 2%, the harder it will be to win even minor concessions in this fight. We do ourselves no favor by ignoring reality; only brutal honesty can help us now.

Here we have a major American newspaper GUSHING over an advertisement from a jewelry store because it helps promote the mainstreaming of sexual perversion. That is the spirit of America today. It cannot and will not last.

Pretty much. That 2% has gotten very good at guilting their family members and friends into going along with the agenda. Then within younger peer groups, if you’re labeled a “hater” you’re ostracized, even if you’re simply expressing sincerely-held religious beliefs.

My niece is in high school right now (In a fairly Republican-leaning suburb of Atlanta), and she tells me that she gets hassled from her peers because she in the past expressed normal Biblical stances on this topic (she now mainly keeps her mouth shut, sadly). Even a mere generation ago, her stance on this issue would’ve been in the majority with the homo-lovers a tiny minority, but they’ve managed to turn the tables and we have to figure a way to them back.

This isn’t quite a 2% thing anymore. This has embedded itself within our culture.

Where possible, to buycott (pointedly shop competitors who are not involved, preferably vocally not involved).

That's what I've been doing, even to the point of buying foreign over buying American. I feel bad when I make that choice, but seeing what I'm not supporting makes up for it.
