More than 2,000 people are feared dead after Boko Haram destroyed “10 to 20” communities in Nigeria’s rural northeast, according to a senator from the region. “These towns are just gone, burned down,” said Ahmed Zanna. “The whole area is covered in bodies.” The radical Islamic group razed the town of Baga along with several others over the past five days. The 2,000 are unofficially unaccounted for.

I hope that is the case here and unaccounted for are simply hiding or ran away...
We have 2 priests from that area. One was supposed to go have in September, but his bishop told him to stay here for now because he has no where to put him. In fact the week he was supposed to leave uptold violence was happening and we thought for sure he would be killed as soon as he returned. Last week the other priest asked to pray for his family that he had heard that morning had been kidnapped. I pray for these people continuously. Having them here really brings the realities of these horrors home. In fact the priest that was to return was the head of the school that was burned down with all the boys in it.
Why are the 12 killed splashed all around the world, but untold thousands don’t warrant a mention. What is wrong with this world that turns a blind eye to this.
Their bishop begs us to pray for them. Please do.

2,000 were killed in 2014, not in a single attack. Horrible? Sure. But the headline is misleading.
Thousands of Christians are murdered by Muslim in Africa daily, and where is Francis? …celebrating with Obama the bail out of the Cuban Stalinist regime that will be kept afloat by the American taxpayers while the enslaved Cuban people is condemned to remain in chains indefinitely thanks to the prayers of Pope for the health of the genocides of the Cuban people.
