One can earn the respect of others, however; when one has to demand respect, it's already lost! It wasn't about the families of the murdered Officers as you tried to shamelessly deflect to, Mayor de Blasio, it's YOU who has lost the respect of NYPD!

I can’t understand why anyone would wear baggy faded jeans to a cops funeral when you’re the mayors wife.

Desperate flailing.

Mayor isn’t going to convince anybody that this was aimed at the families. For it to have even a hope of flying, he’d need to get the families of the dead cops to support him, and I don’t think that’s gonna happen.

One of the problems with the modern 24 hour news cycle is that pols (and others) feel the need to respond to everything that happens to them. In this case, saying nothing would have benefited de Blasio. Instead, he feels the need to respond to everything lest the “enemy” get the upper hand. Sometimes silence is golden.

If I’m one of the deceased’s family members I would be tempted to come out and rebuke De blassio. He’d probably go after their death benefits, though.

Are police officers in NYC unionized? If so, I wonder how many officers listened to their union leaders and voted for this jerk. Unions love commies.

"Those individuals who took certain actions the last two weeks, they were disrespectful to the families involved. That's the bottom line,"

DeBlasio actually believes this crap? Talk about denial!

"I can't understand why anyone would do such a thing in the context like that."

And that's the problem, you libtard, socialist POS... Respect is earned, not demanded. It is truly amazing how libtard scum wander through life always believing that they are somehow exempt from responsibility resulting from their words, actions, and policies, simply because "they" believe it is "right". Liberalism truly is a mental illness.

Don't get me wrong. I'm pro-cop, and I absolutely believe they've got legitimate gripes and concerns. I think they mayor is entirely in the wrong.

That said, if I were advising them, I'd tell them to lay off the back-turning at funerals.

The families know that the disrespect was directed to the Mayor. That is, to a mayor who deserves no respect.

Deblasio, the German American that changed his name to curry political favor with the New York Jews can be disrespected for the simple reason he is due no respect.

This SOB had no problem politicizing what happened in the killing of these blacks by the police. He still refuses to acknowledge the fact that it was his decision to stop all these people selling cigarettes individually that started this mess.

DE Blasio lacks the wit to comprehend his own monumental disrespect—or, more likely, assumes that others do.

Thousands of cops show up at a funeral to show respect and turn their back on this guy and this guy says they are showing disrespect to the families????? People are stupid but not that stupid, they know exactly who those cops disrespected.

He should have just kept his mouth shut and moved on instead of looking like a spoiled child with this stupid tactic keeping this alive. This is not going to get the reaction he is hoping for.....just the opposite in fact. One of the dumbest political moves I have witnessed.

“I can’t understand why anyone would do such a thing in the context like that.”

Classic liberal view, his actions and words should not ever have any negative reaction, only positive reactions. The classic example is when they don’t understand why people move from high tax states.

But really these cops were just making it easier for him given the number of times he’s stabbed them in the backs....

He says the officers’ turning their backs to him is “an offense to the city at large.”

De Blasio thinks he’s Louis XIV. Le NYC c’est moi.

This isn’t l’ancien regime in France. - it’s 21st century NY. If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the fire.

Ahh, but the strawberries that's... that's where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt and with... geometric logic... that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox DID exist, and I'd have produced that key if they hadn't of pulled the Caine out of action. I, I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow officers... --Captain Queeg
