Here is the BO statement on the murdered cops via Politico:
I unconditionally condemn todays murder of two police officers in New York City. Two brave men wont be going home to their loved ones tonight, and for that, there is no justification.
The officers who serve and protect our communities risk their own safety for ours every single day and they deserve our respect and gratitude every single day. I ask people to reject violence and words that harm, and turn to words that heal prayer, patient dialogue, and sympathy for the friends and family of the fallen.

Now here is the statement on sportscaster Stuart Scott:
I will miss Stuart Scott. Twenty years ago, Stu helped usher in a new way to talk about our favorite teams and the days best plays. For much of those twenty years, public service and campaigns have kept me from my family - but wherever I went, I could flip on the TV and Stu and his colleagues on SportsCenter were there. Over the years, he entertained us, and in the end, he inspired us with courage and love. Michelle and I offer our thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, and colleagues.

All deaths like these are sad, don't get me wrong...I just find the equivalent treatment interesting.
And why would this surprise any of us? He’s an America-hating, race-baiting, riot-fomenting jerk!
I guess no “patient dialogue” needed for Stu’s passing.
he seems to put more passion into things involving blacks and anything non-work related.
Identifies Stuart by name three times.
Maybe if the murdered officers had been white?
Good point. That is the “tell” that he does not care, or thinks people assume he does not care. He also often uses terms like “let me be clear” or “obviously” or the like, when trying to act concerned when he isn’t.
It's always about ME!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing against Stuart Scott, but the way Obama and ESPN handled that you’d think the Pope himself had died.
Same sentiment from me. Our definition of noteworthy has really deteriorated.
Local Miami station, Fox affiliate I think, did more than 3 minutes on his passing in a half-hour news show. I think when Reagan died he got about half that.
Thanks SoFloFreeper.
We have a fly-swarmed, hopping Manchurian capuchin for president.
Another slap in the face from el presidente...
Indeed. Way over the top.he was a sportscaster.
No prob.
