"That is why RINOS worked so hard in Mississippi."

...and that is also why the rest of us need to work hard and do more than forward email to friends. As the old saying goes;
"Be the change you want to see."

Pat Caddell reminds me of the way most Democrats used to be. I grew up in a Democrat family. We campaigned for Hubert Humphrey. Dems in those days were openly patriotic and supportive of law and order. The polar opposite of today’s MSNBC Dem. model. Mr. Caddell needs to join our side.
He, like Juan Williams, and Bobby Beckle serves a role as representing the other team. So I guess Caddell has more to gain materially by staying where he is, as odious the assignment may seem.

Remember that the 60% who want Boehner out are not evenly distributed either among Republican districts or nationwide. In many Republican districts, they cannot command a majority, while in others they score much higher than 60%. The Representatives from quite a number of Republican Districts have no reason to oppose Boehner and they won’t. They will be doing what their constituents want them to do.

I don’t think that Boehner will lose the vote, but it will be interesting to see if the appearance of new members provides enough new votes to foreshadow changes to come.

I wrote emails to my states republican congressmen insisting the Boner be voted out of office and that they vote for a conservative.

Whom do you think would make the best replacement for Boner with conservative values?

r, he doesn’t get to be Speaker unless he convinces a Democrat to vote for him.

The Thad Cochran tactic is here to stay.

Yeah can we get a re-vote for McConnell? I bet if the opportunity arose and people spoke out against the Quaker Oats Senator, we’d get someone like Cruz as Majority Leader.

-——they’ll likely hold their noses and vote for him-——

Actually the motivation for voting for Boehner will be a payoff to the member that will be in the form of political power or a much sought after project for his voters

Mine is Thad Cochran, so no point in calling. He and his are happy to get 'rat votes when conservatives won't fall into line.

You don't want Cruz as Majority Leaer. You want him to be President.

Jeff Sessions is the guy who should be majority leader.

IMO... 60% is is LOW. Where I reside I’d say it’s closer to 75%

I don't really know because I don't understand the relationships among the members of the caucus. This is like running for President of the Student Body. They all have policy planks, but the real election is about interpersonal relationships and what the members want from their Speaker.

Yes. And Mike Lee is future majority leader material if he’s not first selected to be the VP nominee.

NI am not familiar with Linda Smith. But, this is a different person whom I should not name for obvious reasons.

Send this to every Republican house member of congress and remind them that they are up for reelection in 2 years.

I think many people are willfully in denial or naively oblivious to the state of affairs and the treason and evil of people in power who represent the great USA

***********
Your overall comment was both excellent and insightful. With regard to the snippet above, our once great country is no longer a functioning democracy. Government now has control over nearly every facet of our lives. The congress has become a joke as it makes no serious attempt at enforcing checks and balances. In this regard, it was interesting to see a recent poll that showed widespread disapproval of the government and congress. That would be an encouraging sign except for the fact that few are willing to step up to fight the ever growing concentration of power.

In a related development, our national debt suddenly (some would say ‘unexpectedly’) rose by $100 billion on the last day of the year. We blew past $18 trillion in a flash.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-01-02/us-debt-soars-100-billion-last-day-2014-hits-record-1814-trillion

The New Year is shaping up to be yet another exercise in frustration for many Americans who want to see some accountability and responsibility in government.
