Ever-eloquent Mario Cuomo, a son of Queens who rode his rhetorical gifts to three terms as New York governor and tantalized Democrats by flirting with a run for President, died Thursday, two sources close to the family said. He was 82.
Cuomo passed away six hours after his oldest son, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, was formally sworn-in to a second term in Manhattan. The elder Cuomo was too ill with a serious heart condition to attend.

An evil man, leading many people astray with his public positions...
That’s funny.....stay safe !
I guess that’s it in a nutshell - but I didn’t say it.
(I think you may have left out a few things.)
Like him? No. But I could take him over his idiot son any day.
At this point, it’s not worth it to rehash his faults. The man is being judged by his Maker. So may God grant his loved ones comfort and peace.
Christian Scientist tomb stone:
"He only thinks he's dead".
Vote for Cuomo not the homo. Such a decent man /sarc

While he was pushing to legalize abortion without limits, Mario Cuomo seven times vetoed bills to restore the death penalty in New York state.
Don Imus summed up Cuomo’s arrogance best: “You don’t have a conversation with Mario Cuomo, you stand there quietly while he LECTURES you!”
Mario the Pious had a short-lived radio show after he lost in 1994. If a caller uttered the word `liberal’, Cuomo cut him off. Or he would sneer “Who CARES what you think!?” and end the call.
He will not be missed.
He raised a son who is a crook.
Hey Mario, azienda me...tu se profiono sfacim!
And he still is...
I wish Bob Grant was here to enjoy this moment.
Bob you were right.
It is good for society as a whole to revile characters as evil as Cuomo. Much hypocritical, pseudo-religious, sentimental, dishonest sewage is about to flow.
This guy could have beat Clinton with ease & went on to beat Bush 41....he just could never pull the trigger.
Anyone know what time the playoff games are this weekend?
Mario Cuomo, while governor, achieved what I like to call the Mario Cuomo trifecta. High taxes, high budget deficit and bad roads. Now, I am willing to understand maybe two of the three happening at a given time, that is maybe low taxes, high deficits and bad roads, of high taxes, no deficit and bad roads or even high taxes, high deficits and good roads, but I could not, for the life of me understand high taxes, high budget deficits and bad roads. But Mario was able to accomplish it. Still, I offer my condolences to his family.
Condolences to the Cuomo family
He’s been promoted from Politician to Statesman.
With the continuous Trayon Martin/Michael Brown/Eric Garner riots, I wouldn’t be surprised if the funeral turned into a mix of the Wellstone funeral and the 1968 Democrat convention.
