ROCKUMENTARY: THE TOP 10 OF 2014
#3 Hozier: Take Me to ChurchBillboard: Even if this hadnt been featured in a Beats By Dre commercial or been performed on Saturday Night Live, Hoziers debut single would have found an American audience, thanks to one of the years most harrowing hooks and unique vocal takes. Now nominated for a Song of the Year Grammy, it still produces goose-bumps after dozens of plays.
Publius: Warning! Very explicit, depicts male homosexuality, highly derogatory of religion. But harrowing and very effective nonetheless. I found the music hypnotic, especially the mixing of three- and four-to-the-bar. This is highly original, not for all tastes and disturbing to watch.

I have collected some contemporary tunes, but probably not top 40s. I like unusual tuneage, as I said before. I probably should pay more attention to lyrics. LOL! No tellin’ what I’m exposing our kids to. :)

Hi Kathy!
Happy new Year...I just tried to take a little nap, but the fireworks kept frightening the dog, so I’m back online in time for the countdown.
I actually have a few lessons tomorrow, which is good because i need the money! LOL!

It's getting to the point where we have to be careful what our kids expose us to!

There are some songs you might not want to hear. I’m getting an education in pop culture, and I don’t like a lot of what I’m learning.

ROCKUMENTARY: THE TOP 10 OF 2014
#2 Kendrick Lamar: iBillboard: No, its not the glowering sneer of Backseat Freestyle or the multi-pronged storytelling of Swimming Pools, but Kendrick Lamar captures something thats arguably more difficult to convey in hip-hop: blissful positivity. Operating atop an Isley Brothers sample, Lamar continuously proves himself the most inventive MC in the game on the single, zagging when we think hes going to zig and blasting into an earth-shattering verse just when we think the song is slowing down. Theres no slowing down King Kendrick.
Publius: Warning! Vile language. The bed is the Isley Brothers Whos That Lady? I actually liked this even though I cant stand the whole hip-hop thing.

Simply canNOT listen to rap/hip-hop! It’s the most annoying non-music ever produced by a human brain...... or was it?
