Regulation: Cures for cancer and Ebola having been found, the federal ubernannies have decreed that sprinkles should no longer adorn kids' ice cream because they contain the trans fat that liberal groups once pushed for.
Come the New Year, the Food and Drug Administration, ignoring the principle that in most cases it's the dose that defines the poison, will issue new regulations designed to remove even trace amounts of hydrogenate oils, commonly known as trans fats, from our diets.
Trans fats have been in our foods since the 1950s to increase shelf life and improve taste. A small amount appears naturally in some foods, but research has determined that large quantities of trans fats in one's diet can be dangerous for long-term health.
But so can large quantities of bacon, and no one has proposed banning bacon, at least not yet, but we're sure that thought has occurred to those who want 16-ounce soft drinks banned while forcing our children to eat cardboard school lunches.
Each American consumes a mere 1.3 grams of trans fats per day. That's roughly 0.6% of our total daily calories, and no research suggests that this poses a health risk. But that's not enough to dissuade the federal nannies from regulating even the most minute aspect of our daily lives.

NANNY STATE PING
What a great sense of humor our bureaucrats have!
I would comment further, but I must rush out to get sprinkles before they are banned.
If this is not satire, then the solution to this episode of ‘Busybody-Bloomberging’ would be to use more acceptable ingredients for those sprinkles. Some people just want to stamp out every spark of fun. Not this time. Let there be sprinkles for girls and boys of all ages! “We Will Win!”
"For every sprinkle I find, I shall kill you."
What about Crisco? I tried to buy pure Lard at the grocery but it has all been hydrogenated. If that isn’t poison I do not know what is! Gurrr!
From my cold, dead hands.
You can find real lard at Mexican stores...............
Banning Sprinkles may well be the first step to banning everything that Srinkles was sprinkled on.
When sprinkles are outlawed, only outlaws will have sprinkles.
Check your local culture-specific stores such as Mexican and Chinese grocers. Many of them carry pure lard for cooking.

What everybody is forgetting is the danger of Soylent Green! If all transfat is banned, then there can be no Soylent Green and thus the all-benificent GOVERNMENT can save us all (deep self-hug!)
See how simple it is?
You can also get lard at Asian markets
They have tried that. All ready. They tried banning 4 Bacon slices & 2 sunny side up or over easy eggs once and truckers said they’d go on strike and nothing would move.
OT, but,,,, Mrs F’mann’s unsalted margarine was on sale, so I thought I’d try it.
Abdo-lutely awful! Threw it out and went back to Land O’ Lakes, unsalted sweet cream butter! Yumm!
I do know that a single small jar of sprinkles is sufficient for about 600 Christmas cookies.
Good to know!
