That's really the problem right there, isn't it? If you're dealing with people who will never be charged with crimes, will never be put on trial, and will never be released, then what the hell was the point of apprehending them at all?

Prisoners of war are held until the end of hostilities.

As soon as islam surrenders, they can be released.

to detain them indefinitely simply by stating that “the war will likely never end.”

Just because islam has been at war with the rest of the world and between its own sects for 1400 years does not mean the war will never be over.

Congress did approve the war.

Perhaps they didn't use the constitutionally mandated turn of phrase to do so, oh wait, the Constitution doesn't mandate any particular wording to authorize military force.

*BLUSH* *nevermind*

Any thing that will have an adverse effect on America obama will do it, so far he gets away with everything, with boehner and mcconnel in leadership he will continue to do whatever he wants so long as it furthers the destruction of our Free Republic.

No, I don’t — which is why I’ve questioned for years the policy of detaining prisoners indefinitely at Guantanamo Bay. This sort of thing only gives “lawyers intent on destroying the country” legal ammunition to make that happen.

Who is the enemy?

Declaring war without naming one or more sovereign states as the enemy/enemies makes about as much sense as declaring a war on poverty, or a war on drugs.

Unfortunately, this country's stupid "War on Terror" is likely to be as effective as our "War on Poverty" and our "War on Drugs," too.

This conversation has reached the point of silliness, since it appears that you're not even discussing the same enemy that the U.S. has identified in this "war."

Because "Islam is a religion of peace," isn't it?

LOL. If the enemy was truly being “eliminated” then we wouldn’t be having this discussion, now would we?

GOPe Leadership & Obama are teammates.

Well, teammates, not exactly. Teenybopper cheerleaders swooning over the winning Quarterback is more like it. Then, when the cheerleader goes home to mom & dad (that's us, their constituents), they whine "Nuh uh! As if! We don't like that guy!"

well, that’s a rather foolish statement. the discussion is about the eliminated enemies residing at present at guantanamo.

You mean the “eliminated enemies” who are gradually being released back to the Middle East?! LOL.
