The McKenzie County sheriff's department used its K9 team to track down three men who fled an accident scene in McKenzie county last week.
The dogs led deputies and officers from the U-S Border Patrol through three miles of badlands where they found two of the men.
They caught the third man two days later near Williston, after reports of a drug transaction.
The Border Patrol was involved because all three of the suspects are illegal immigrants.
The sheriff's office reports that one of the men has been deported 33 times.
He will be charged with felony immigration violations.
The suspects face drug charges as well.
During the search, officers found about 30 grams of methamphetamine, valued at almost $6,000.
The crash that initiated the search occurred on ND Highway 68 and ND Highway 16 in southwest McKenzie County.
It involved a car and a tanker truck.
The men in the car fled the scene, which prompted the US Border Patrol involvement.
Gosh, I thought it was illegal to arrest an illegal...

Only if they don’t speak English as their first language or can even read or write it.
Anyway, it is doubtful that they would've been pursued had they not fled the scene of an accident.
OK,that’s good...but the nation doesn’t seem to be overrun by illegal Canadians.The real problem is about 1500 miles to the south and southwest.

I have,actually.But few of them are illegal.Few of them wind up in prison.Most of them have licenses and insurance.Few of them apply for food stamps,Medicaid,Section 8 Housing and most of them communicate in English (poor English to be sure but English nevertheless).

Canada has only 30 million people. I think that Canada must be fairly empty for most of the winter months, since there are so many Quebec and Ontario license plates here during those months...................Je me souviens...........to put out the cat and turn off the gas..............
