What follows is an object lesson in why year-end best, worst and other lists shouldn't be published until the year actually ends.
A Kwanzaa "parade" was held in Los Angeles yesterday. In reporting on the event, CBS Los Angeles published a work of fiction which absolutely belongs on any 2014 list of most embarrassing moments in journalism (HT Twitchy; bolds are mine):

The only people that “celebrate” Kwanzaaaaaaa are single young white female elementary teachers and fake politicians.
Yet, this article cited is representative of the complete concoction of lies the MSM bestows upon us continually.
I expect in the future that biggest growth information delivery (so-called journalism) will be in the CGI department where throngs of whatever protesters can be created.
The media reports on any gathering of people who endorse liberal ideas as an enlightened “movement”. But whenever conservatives assemble in meaningful numbers, the media dismisses them as a handful of “extremists”. The reporters quickly find liberal politicians to reinforce these media manufactured perceptions. The MSM is totally corrupt.
A gwaride? How does GWAR figure into this?
The MSM (especially NBC,CBS and the NYT) practice advocacy journalism. They “report” or publish whatever they feel will advance the narrative. Facts don’t matter and omission of events (the IRS scandals, Fast and Furious, Obama’s past and documented lies) are routine. Rational people simply do not see them as credible sources.
Empty street!! Parade?? LOL!! Not one person there!
CBS — fake, but accurate reporting.
A small number of people showing up in an isolated community is a parade.
A small number of people showing up in a metropolis like LA is an embarrassment.
Reporting anything more, if at all, than a blurb in "in other local news" deserves a cancellation call to the paper's circulation dept.
Statement from the President and the First Lady on Kwanzaa
Michelle and I extend our warmest wishes to those celebrating Kwanzaa this holiday season. Today begins a celebration highlighting the rich African American heritage and culture through the seven principles of Kwanzaaunity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith. During this season, families come together to reflect on blessings of the past year and look forward to the promises in the year ahead. As we remain committed to building a country that provides opportunity for all, this time of year reminds us that there is much to be thankful for.
As families around the world unite to light the Kinara today, our family extends our prayers and best wishes during this holiday season.

This would be a PERFECT opportunity for a couple thousand patriots to show up for an IMPEACH BARAQ rally.
Where did ray ray earn all that salad on his jacket? And he was a 4 star to boot? Who knew?
Rent a bus, put a huge sign on the side
IMPEACH, CONVICT, DEPORT
LET BARAQ CELEBRATE KWANZAA IN KENYA!
Had about 100 here in Fayetteville at the Saturday evening program.

It’s been going on for years - and has had about the same number of folks - and looks to be pretty much the same folks.
The only people that celebrate Kwanzaaaaaaa are single young white female elementary teachers and fake politicians.

LOL! Good post.
“A holiday about nothing?”
“Nothing?”
“Nothing.”
I have no doubt that such a parade took place. But what they won’t acknowledge is that every single attendee, including the white ones, had a criminal record.
To paraphrase BJ Clinton, it all depends on what the meaning of the word “parade” is.
Not surprising...oddly this information is missing on the official Kwanzaa home page the “professor” set up...
