CINCINNATI Police were studying mall surveillance video Tuesday in their investigation of the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old Ohio boy authorities say tried to rob a shopper in his quest to obtain popular, limited-edition athletic shoes.
Miami Township police said a man with a concealed weapon permit fired his gun after he and another man were accosted Saturday morning by three teens on a sidewalk outside the Dayton Mall. Police said one teen had showed a gun.
Jawaad Jabbar of Middletown died a short time later of a gunshot wound to his torso, authorities said.

It's obscene that some of those athletes who've expressed solidarity with their black brothers (yeah, like they're moving in to those neighborhoods) make gigantic profits endorsing things such as overpriced sneakers.
An Asian friend of mine explained to me how the hierarchy of ethnicity works in that part of the world. It has almost nothing to do with material wealth. For example, Laotians, very poor relatively, are respected in Asia because of the great culture they had until invaded every so often by others (who will remain nameless here) who are much less respected. OTOH, any people coming from the Pacific, wealthy and high-tech or dirt poor and primitive, are still “island people”. I certainly don’t have any opinion on this, just reporting what was told to me.
Already there was this beauty:
“The last I checked, in all 50 states, there is no Death Penalty for theft. The shooter could have handed over the shoes, but instead decided to be police, judge, jury, and executioner with one action.”
Let us see how fast the MSM buries the detail about the robbers having a gun.

I’m guessing that the most expensive sneakers ever made cost less than $15 for China to make out the door. How ANY people could fall for stuff like this, I don’t know.
Maybe shoes the black equivalent of “Beanie Babies”. But at least you can use the shoes.
Someone would have to be seriously fashion challenged in the head to find anything I wear worth committing violence to get. I was spouting off for the most part because the whole business of the average person walking around intimidated by thugs is repugnant. I do carry always, but at the same time I will also do what can be done to avoid resorting to the firearm, including hauling ass. In the end though, whether I can get away, or I must stand my ground, I will not be a victim.
Had the shooter just given up his shoes a young black man would still be alive.
And to that I say, had the young black man not taken a gun to the mall and used it to try and rob a concealed carry citizen, that young man would be alive.
I wonder...what was/is the race of the shooter?
“Libs: Resonse was disproportionate. He should have just taken Jawaads shoes.”
Obama’s response would be to glare disapprovingly at Jawaad’s old shoes.
“Jawaad Jabbar”
Obviously named after Saint Jawaad!
“I wonder...what was/is the race of the shooter? “
Because it isn’t mentioned, the answer is obvious and doesn’t even need to be reported. On the other hand...well, you know what a sh**-storm that would have caused.
Jawaad Jabbar....Sounds like a Star Wars character.
A logical conclusion, but I tend to wait for confirmation. Bottom line, it’s the NRA’s fault.

Of course, this pitiful liberal fool only sees the world from the limo window or the 12th floor of the gentrified condo and hasn’t even considered that the perp might take the shoes and THEN just shoot anyway. This happens all the time and with much less expensive items of value.
There are lots of things worth dying for—Shoes aint one of them.

JJ was a good kid, making good decisions and turning his life around

Hmmm, Guess JJ didnt get things turned around quite fast enough, hey? You know, given that he was shot to death while attempting to commit armed robbery and all.
"This was a random act of, 'I want something that person has and I'm going to take it from them,' said Sgt. Jay Phares of the Miami Township Police Department.
And had his victim not been armed he probably would have.
story written to all but hide that the kid pulled a gun on him - and he was confronted by 3 of them - They know most people will just read the first sentence- which will translate to another Little black boy gunned down by a racist white man -
Lil Jawaad Jabbar’s parent(s) should sue Nike for causing this situation with their extremely limited distribution of these apparently highly desirable shoes. If Nike had issued a reasonable number of shoes, lil Jawaad wouldn’t have been forced to rob these shoes from such a dangerous owner, but instead could have robbed money from an easier mark and BOUGHT himself a pair.
As it was, lil Jawaad had no choice but to rob the shoes directly from a very small pool of potential marks, with greatly reduced chances of finding a suitably defenseless person.
“Gibsmedat!”
BLAM!
I have heard that the reason black and red are so popular for football teams in particular is because they are gang colors. I imagine the same applies to apparel.
