Theres nothing quite like the fury of a cornered political hack. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio gave a remarkable press conference on Monday afternoon where he blamed the media for creating the air of paranoia and racial tension currently hanging heavy over the Big Apple.

What are you guys gonna do? Are you gonna keep dividing us? de Blasio demanded of reporters, angry at them for daring to report the ugly behavior of certain demonstrators. You can tell from his body language that de Blasio feels the wall pressing hard against his back. He needed a scapegoat, fast, and chose one of the few institutions less respected than he is at the moment. That might not have been a smart pick, as politicians often learn when picking fights with the folks who buy ink by the barrel and pixels by the gigabyte.
A bizarre whiff of de Blasios authoritarian socialism hangs over even his last-ditch desperation plays. Hes not even really accusing the media of lying about anything here; hes castigating them for daring to tell a truth he now finds politically inconvenient.

All I know is he changed it as an adult.
The NYPD Blue will perhaps become Der Haupt NYPD Brownshirts under de Blasio.
They were just totin’ your water for ya, Commie Bill.
If you read and watched the Breitbart article, Wilhelm brags about a 25K march that was peaceful, and protected by the the NYPD, chastising the under-reporting of the event.
Breitbart points out that de Blasio had effectively spoken out the other side of his mouth trying to tamp down his fellow travelers' WINE (Al Capp...), less-than-peaceful protests until after the funerals.
interesting observation. I always thought it was training. But you may be right. It may be far deeply entrenched than thought. A true mental disorder
Mrs. de Blasio’s bestie is a Sharpton acolyte.
Head deep in the sand. Just another idiot.
That is absolutely true. And never, even down the line, does it cross their minds that they might have faults or have contributed to “something bad” that has happened.
If there are still a few Conservatives in New York City, the threat to public safety that De Blasio represents, could be used as a wakeup call to help them free some of their neighbors from the stultifying mass indoctrination, that the Academic/Media complex has achieved since FDR made it "respectable" to consider the babbling of Marxists as serious thought!

There should be a conservative boycott of NYC until DiCommie-o is gone.
Let them know that elections have consequences.
The media? They are deliberately inciting chaos. Isn’t that the point? Come on Bill, its for the cause. Get with the program.
DeBlasio is famous for being lazy, continually late for meetings and not filling major positions in the government. His staff plays computer games. He sleeps, according to Mark Simone, to 10 o’clock every day. He has the stupidest horse face I’ve seen since John Kerry. Six weeks into his administration, he goofed up on a blizzard. Most mayors do that six years into their run. He’s a disaster. At least David Dinkins was a nice guy.
Sorry, but there is a conservative boycott of NYC EVEN IF DiCommie-o is gone.
Yes, I think he changed his uber-German name so he wouldn’t alienate the Jewish population. Apparently, he’s half Italian-American but he’s a disgrace to that nice community.
lol
Here’s what Wiki has to say:
DeBlasio speaking: “He (DeBlasio’s father, Warren Wilhelm) was an alcoholic, and my mother and father broke up very early on in the time I came along, and I was brought up by my mother’s familythat’s the bottom linethe de Blasio family.”
In 1983, he changed his name to Warren de Blasio-Wilhelm, which he described in April 2012: “I started by putting the name into my diploma, and then I hyphenated it legally when I finished NYU, and then, more and more, I realized that was the right identity.” By the time he appeared on the public stage in 1990, he was using the name Bill de Blasio as he explained he had been called “Bill” or “Billy” in his personal life. He did not legally change over to this new name until 2002, when the discrepancy was noted during an election.
Article also says he speaks Italian. Not sure if the change was really out of wanting to honor the DeBlasio side of his heritage or to further identify with NYC’s large Italian population....
