Shes a mom on a mission. A single mother-of-two from the Los Angeles neighborhood of South Central recently went on strike against her employer McDonalds. Maribel makes $9.35 per hour working as a server but thats not enough to support her family (she shares a home with 10 other people including her children, grandmother, and niece). I need fifteen to buy my babies diapers, their wipies, their clothes, she explains. Its hard with nine dollars per hour you cant do that. Its really hard to pay rent.
On December 4, Maribel, along with a large group seeking $15 per hour and union rights for fast food workers, picketed a McDonalds location in downtown Los Angeles. Its really exciting going inside my own store, she says before leading a group of chanting protesters inside. Maribel was not alone in her efforts that day, fast food workers walked off the job in more then 150 cities across the country.

She had time enough to get naked with one (likely two...maybe 6) guys to pop out a couple of kids.
She asked for what she has, and it isn’t McDonald’s job to reward her for being stupid.
we whant to be like de rich people...
She can continue with her life without getting married.
There just aren’t enough young whites for that ooperating model anymore.
Where’s your baby-daddy?
Well, really she should have thought of the plight of the innocence she was bringing into really crappy circumstances.
Some how, that is never discussed. Oh, the guy is awful, dead beat--but we never are allowed to examine the motives and selfishness of women who find themselves in these situations and bring innocent lives into them.
It's like random pregnancies are like bolts of lightening, just striking innocent bystanders. We are to believe some people just have bad luck and get knocked up by losers who are "WILL NEVER BE FATHER MATERIAL" written all over them.
Most people have no idea that wages and prices have a basis in reality. They can’t be arbitrarily changed just because someone wishes they were different. It makes me so mad that no so-called reporter ever asks why these people have children they cannot afford to feed, where are the fathers and why aren’t they paying support, why can’t other members of the family work, how much taxpayer funded goodies are they receiving, and why doesn’t she try to get a promotion or train for a better job?
She can wipe the kids butt with toilet paper or news paper and use cloth diapers and wash them. I have not met the server who was worth $9.25 an hour, much less
$15.00. Stop shacking around and stifle yourself woman.
Leave California go to states producing oil and you’ll find those mcdonalds paying over $15 per hour. Or go back to school get a degree as a pharmacy tech and you’ll be making over $25 grand.
I would love to see any reporter ask the questions you posed, not only because liberal heads everywhere would explode but because it would put a stop to this “living wage” nonsense. Political correctness forbids those questions and professional victim groups know that and use it to their advantage. They know the employer can’t counter her with those questions without being demonized as anti-whatever.
I think their sausage biscuits at $1 are great; how can they run a business just selling them?
Boo hoo. She is getting paid wages, plus Earned Income Tax credits, food stamps, free food at school for her kids, AND she pays zero income tax. She is living a lot better than a lot of working people who decided they cannot afford to have children until later.
Yo, lady, you do realize that millions of illegals are about to get green cards and a fast ticket in to your job? All you’re doing is making sure that they get the raise you won’t.
Well, could be. I wouldn’t put it past them, and it does make sense.
who said they could. I addressed someone saying the food was too high priced. So, order war you can afford. I’f I’m spending big mac combo money I can go to CJs or In-and-Out

She needs to be careful as McDonalds is experiencing financial problems and are looking
for ways to reduce cost which includes labor. McD has just experienced 14 staight months
of declining sales. Major changes are coming in efforts to turn the McD ship around.
“She also certainly gets Medicaide and Food Stamps...at least. And, she should have thought of her plight before she took her panties off.”
I think a lot of people don’t understand they take their panties off so they don’t have to live the drudgery of middle-class life; they want the free college, rent, food stamps, etc., and are willing to trade the lives of their golden-ticket welfare bastards to get them. Anyone who has worked with these women when their children “attrite” them out of the freebies when they grow up can tell very quickly that they never thought they’d ever have to work.
>> Maribel, along with a large group seeking $15 per hour
$30 for two employees @ $15/hour
$30 for three employees @ $10/hour
How about a real living wage of $60k/year...
$30 for one employee @ $30/hour?
That’s the crux of their problem; rather than spend so much for the combos, people can just get better food elsewhere. Not so long ago I remember drive-thru lines wrapped around the building and lines at the counter inside; as many people (including me) have stopped spending there it is a lot faster service if you go in now.
I think demographics plays a big part, not just in terms of Hispanics preferring other food but also many immigrants just being more thrifty in general.
