Geraldo Rivera Tells LeBron James To Wear ‘We’re The Problem’ Shirt Instead Of ‘I Can’t Breathe’
PoliticusUSA - Real Liberal Politics ^ | December 12, 2014 | Justin Baragona

Doubling down on comments he made Wednesday night, Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera appeared on Fox & Friends Friday morning to discuss Cleveland Cavs star LeBron James and the statement he made recently wearing an “I Can’t Breathe” t-shirt prior to a game with the Brooklyn Nets. While LeBron is far from the only NBA player who has worn the shirt to show his dissatisfaction with the grand jury’s decision not to indict NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo in the death of Eric Garner, he is definitely the most high-profile athlete who has done so. Therefore, pundits and commentators have focused on him in talking about this uprising movement.

In an appearance on Hannity Wednesday, Rivera criticized James and other athletes for wearing the shirt. During a panel discussion, Rivera said that LeBron should wear a “Be A Better Father” shirt rather than an “I Can’t Breathe” shirt as the black community has a “victimization mentality,” and the real problem facing it isn’t the fact that police target black men more than others, it is the fact that black men need to be better fathers. Of course, Eric Garner wasn’t choked to death due to broken family issues, but that’s neither here nor there. Geraldo wants the black community to focus on the issue he wants them to focus on, so they need to snap right to it.

Below is video of his appearance on Hannity, courtesy of Media Matters:

Friday morning, Rivera made his way to the Fox & Friends set, where race baiting and denigrating black people is generally the flavor of the day. While speaking to the three dim-witted (and lily white) hosts, Geraldo made sure to reassert his position from earlier in the week. He once again claimed that blacks feel like they are the victims and that police violence is an easy issue to get behind do to that. However, we wanted to know why LeBron isn’t embracing the tougher issues and wearing a “We’re The Problem” shirt, since black men are mostly to blame for the issues in the black community.

Of course, the couch sitters at Fox & Friends were in total agreement with Geraldo, thinking he made some salient points. However, all Geraldo did was blame black men for having the audacity of getting killed and not focusing enough on the issues he, and other conservatives, would like addressed within the black community. Geraldo’s latest rants on this subject sound an awful lot like his claiming Trayvon Martin had it coming because he wore a hoodie. In essence, he’s a non-black person explaining to black people how they should act, dress and live their lives.

Yeah, Geraldo is right up there with Bill Buckley, Phyllis Schlafley and Barry Goldwater in the conservative pantheon. Is he president of the NRA yet?

Travon Martin sha shot because he was wearing a hoodie now
Both Travon and M Brown were shot because they pulled guns on cops and shot at the cops first, after violent robbing a store and shooting the Clerk.

This will be my new LIE that I intent to repeat endlessly from now on and insist on as a matter of fact.

If we are going to just make up bullshit to fit a racist narrative then the non-racist, civilized people should all do the same.

Actually I would prefer if he went on a rant explaining that the only racism and slavery going on today when it comes to blacks, is the slavery created by the Democrap party that blacks keep inexplicably keep voting for over and over and over. The party that makes blacks jump like trained poodles every election cycle for those scraps from the table, who keep them enslaved through their socialist bullsh*t, phantom racism, and constant hammering on their self respect. Who have them convinced that they should live like children getting an allowance rather than men with pride and a job. Martin Luther King jr was a Republican because he knew the Republican party was formed strictly to save the black population from the evils of the Democrap party, but the Democraps got blacks so brainwashed and effed up they think the opposite is true. Promote history, show the real story that Democraps are their real enemy and always have been.

This past summer there was a neighbor whom had a sign on his house that states A..Hole’s Neighbor (Butt - but the spelling with double ss) The neighbors became quite ticked off. It took three months for the sign to be removed. I went to the guy politely to ask him to take it down he stated he had the right to display any sign he wanted on his property.

he still has a sign on his house.

This property protected by a military veteran, if you can read this sign you are in range.

Lets just say this sign is not making many friends for him in the neighborhood. The guy is actually lazy - cannot cut his gras or even shovel snow. Multiple vehicles all over the lawn, and so many creditors coming in the neighborhood trying to collect on the debts owed.

Just wonder if there is some issues after serving 4 tour of duties in Afghanistan

Could be. He's certainly not typical. Veterans are usually disciplined individuals with set standards when it comes to maintaining their property and generally exhibit stability in the neighborhoods they live in.

If the police are really targeting Blacks, as Blacks claim without end, it’s important for Black youths to be warned that if they’re apprehended by a policeman they must not resist arrest or they could wind up choked to death like Eric Garner.

But how does an athlete wearing an ‘’I Can’t Breath’’ t-shirt get that message across? It doesn’t; it’s just a glib statement that actually seems to mock the seriousness of the whole issue.

BTW, would anyone be surprised if Lebron James started selling official Lebron James ‘’I Can’t Breathe’’ t-shirts to go along with his official Lebron James basketball shoes at $199 a pair?

I did a double take too! I don’t watch tv, but that comment is beyond ridiculous, maybe to the point of being legally actionable. If I was FOX, I’d have the legal department at least make the author or the web site he’s published on burn some dollars on legal expenses.

yes, black people are soooo smart. That's why blacks have been so successful in America, that and all the assistance that the Demoratic party has handed out to them.

If it wasn't so typical an example of the divisive leftist political tactics and insanity, I would laugh!

I'm thinking about getting an “I Can't Breathe” Tee shirt myself!

I don't care what color Eric Garner was, why were cops so hell bent on physically arresting him and taking him to jail, for selling “untaxed” cigarettes to adults?
They knew him, by all accounts, why not issue another ticket/fine and move on to other things?
If it's that big a deal, sick the IRS on him for tax evasion!
We have millions of illegal alien criminals running around breaking many much more serious “civil” laws, and they decided to focus on this guy?
