WASHINGTON (AP) It's now up to the Senate to pass a huge $1.1 trillion spending bill to keep the government running, but not before a battle between old school veterans and new breed freshmen such as tea partier Ted Cruz and Elizabeth Warren, a liberal with a national following.

Has there EVER been a larger group of backstabbers
and utter grubers than the GOP, who only live
to mimic the DNC from open borders, to corruption
and its coverup, to wasteful spending?
Who the hell is Elizabeth Warren?
I thought the government was already shutdown?
You don’t understand!!!
We held their feet to the fire. Besides, the Dems are worse. This is just a lesser evil. JonBon just kept his powder dry because he didnt want to blow his political capital.
I think, that we have to unite behind the GOP for 16 and not waste our votes. Because Hillary or Fauxcohontas could get and continue Obamacare or back Amnesty and that would be a disaster. Its the most important election ever! Its the patriotic thing to do.
Sorry, but I’ve had it with the GOPe. Count me out in 2016.
Fauxcahontas.
She's Obama's hand-picked successor. Makes Hillary look like Glinda the Good Witch.
I was being sarcastic. That collection of nonsense is what the Freeper Left drilled into everyone over and over in each of the last 3 elections.
You miss the point...... there is a thriving GOPc.
The conservative wing of the GOP is where the action is going to be to put forward the conservative agenda.
There was a temp bill on the sideline that became effective.
Oh and I should add the Freeper Left, whose most vocal members have been strangely missing for several days now.
There is no conservative wing of the GOP. There are 5 powerless guys.
It's the most important election since the last one. And the one before that.
I've been holding my nose so long that my nostrils are starting to fuse together...
With the GOP, even when we win, we lose. If they run a RINO in 2016, they've slit their own throats.
While I tend to agree with you about the importance of the election, I'm afraid the realistic result of a GOP victory would be hugely disappointing over the long haul.
watch the drama unfold and at the last minute it too will pass. Just like everything else that has been done in the last 6 years. The congress critters will not field the phone calls. They claim they are working so hard to solve the problems in America. Yeah right these yahoos do not what it is like to work hard, what they do is the easy way out. Hard work is making for some sacrifices. These yahoos all need to kicked to the curb, just like the trash they are!
Actually, YOU do not understand.
The GOP is the party of RomneyCARE (the first)
and gay marriage (now polygamy) and of
continuing the coverup (a la Issa).
AMERICANS MUST NEVER SUPPORT THE GOP, AGAIN. EVER.
YOU are the FReeper left who supports the GOP’s
tactics of helping Obama.
FReepers are generally conservative and FUMING.
It’s all about getting out of town for Christmas vacation. They’ll pass anything at this point.
Dio, you missed the sarcasm. You have seen my posts here for years. You know what I think.
Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.[Posted on 11/19/2013 12:16:51 PM by Third Person]

"It is my proudest vote," Markey said repeatedly in the House, and then again as a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2014. The question is relevant in the... [/snip]
